The Canes are celebrating their Māori & Pacific players and fans with Mana Moana week at Sky Stadium on Saturday.

It got me thinking, who would make an all-time Mana Moana Canes XV - feel free to add a Blues one in here aswell.

Considering the likes of Cullen and Coles count, here is my stab at an all time XV: * I feel like I've missed someone obvious in the locking department.

    1. Schwalger 2. Coles 3. Tialata (but would probably have Lomax over him already) 4. Tito 5. Fatialofa 6. Collins 7. Savea 8. So'oialo 9. Perenara 10. Weepu 11. Lomu 12. Nonu 13. Umaga 14. Milner Skudder 15. Cullen

Has Weepu ever played 10 for the Canes ? If not, R. Flutey then.

Surely you'd take Cruden before Flutey?

This is probably a really stupid question, but why are Fijians not classed as Polynesian?

    I'm thinking because they're Melanesian?

Not something usually considered really though eh.

    Chiefs for me would be:

    Taumalolo
    Hika Elliot
    Laulala
    Gibbs
    Lock
Holah (I think he played for NZ Maori)
    Messam
    Lauaki (RIP big man!)
    Tawera Kerr-Barlow
    Cruden
    Second Five
    ALB
    McKenzie
    Lomu (RIP Big fella)
    Mils

    I have a mind blank for another lock and a 2nd 5

Hohneck played for the Maori. no? Surely, SBW at 12!

That could have something to do with it.

my Chiefs loosies are Messam, Lats, and Lauaki

    My backline?

TKB, Cruden, Reihana, Little, Bunce, Randle, Mils

The dreamy Richard Kahui the unlucky one. Sivivatu also because someone made the "no fijians" rule.

No room for title-winning fullback Robbie Robinson?

I think he meant Sean Hohneck the lock ... not the prop version. Cooksley and Hoeata are both test capped locks available for the Chiefs.

@cgrant he sure did. I didn’t consider the two options of Flutey and Cruden though.

That's right, I forgot about him. To answer @junior, Sean Hohneck started for the Maori in their win over the B&I Lions in 2005.

After all of the options mentioned I would probably go back to Cooksley.
