'For all Mankind' on Apple TV+
Watched the first ep which was great. An alternative reality where the Ruskies beat the US to the first man on the moon which then starts a tit for tat escalation of space race 'firsts'
Some reviews can't help but see it through the current political environment lenses and claim it is a vehicle for woke-ness (first woman, first black etc etc) but anything with a premise of showing great space shots and continuing, what was a cool period in history instead of it fizzling out, sounds alright to me. No need to read much into it.
Production values are high and the scripting/acting of good quality. Not groundbreaking but looks like it could be a good watch.
Going to time it right for a one week free trial and binge this.
I really enjoyed FAM. Yeah it’s easy to see it through a woke lens but there are some good side issue raised too, like the morality of hiring von Braun, Nixon’s narcissism, and whether Jimmy Carter would ever have been president in Ted Kennedy hadn’t attended that party. Keep watching till after the end credits of the last episode for a real geek moment.
Damn, I missed that, will have to check it out when I get home. I really enjoyed the show.
I think S2 was already greenlit before S1 was released.

Watched first two episodes of that 'I'm not okay with this' thats been hyped up on netflix. Apparently number 1 for NZ....
Well it was pretty bloody meh....and I'm not okay with that
@JK I stuck with it and enjoyed it. The last episode in particular is pretty bloody good and sets up another season really well.
What I liked especially were the short episodes at 30 odd minutes.
Yeah the 20min episodes is quite appealing.
I will give it a few more then
Do that. I liked where the last episode was leading. The investment in time wasn’t onerous so why not?
One question for anyone who’s watched the whole season: when is it actually set? It was ambiguous.

I am up to ep 6. It's a fun show (despite the flashback content) and I think Roxy and Lonny are great.

Hang on , aren’t you an accountant? When you say too real how many cartels are you laundering money for?

I watched S1 of Knightfall.
For the most part i really enjoyed it. Some excellently gory deaths. An interesting take on the Grail legend. Enough historical figures to keep things in place.
It was just a little light in the acting and storyline areas to keep it from being any better than good.
S2 doesn't appear to be on Netflix which is annoying as fuck.

@Bones Have you finished The Outsider? You obviously need to watch the post-credit scene.
Yep! Be funny if you switched off at the credits eh.
Bloody good, but can't help feeling a little flat at the ending, not sure they could have done any better.
:::
Did you get what the story was they made up? How did they swing it past the prosecutor?

I haven't read the novel so don't know how that ending compared to this show. If I have a criticism is that they rushed the ending a little bit which probably adds to the confusion.
To answer your question, this is from Wiki which makes sense.

Yunis contacts Hayes and implicates Jack and the entity. Claude and the investigators, with help from Jeannie and Glory, coordinate their stories. Hayes holds a press conference to exonerate Terry and re-open Frankie's case.
Hayes appears to be looking at footage from the cave festival so I can only assume Yunis explained to him that the real Claude was with them all night.
