    @canefan @Hooroo can you both please stop talking about lamb shoulders!!! The 2x supermarkets here have none, it's killing me.

    I did grab a pork shoulder, which I'll do in the next day or 2. I'll do that over a few hours, usually comes out pretty good, though I've never managed to get the gravy right, it's always too oily. Maybe I need to spend longer skimming it, I dunno.

    FABULOUS!!!! That is the next type of BBQ I am getting. Currently of WSM and a Weber Kettle but I drool when I see those porcelain type of BBQ's

    It's the akorn kamado. Poor man's ceramic but I like it. Lighter and easier to move and lift.

    I have no complaints. I'd buy it again over a ceramic. Yes voodoo it does excellent duck. This is my peking duck take

    That makes me want wander down to Chinatown to grab a duck, roast pork, BBQ pork, soya chicken combo ... but I have food at home and trying to limit my 'takeaways' to once a week on the partial NSW lockdown.

    We used to regularly have mutton in the 80s, it took me a while to train myself to enjoy lamb in the late 80/90s.

    Love Mutton - when you can get it. Pak'n'Save is good for goat and Mutton.

    Another retro option - Hogget - delicious combination of tenderness of lamb and full-flavour of mutton. Can be cooked hot and quick like lamb, or low and slow like Mutton . Haven't seen it in the retail market for years

    I don't know for sure but they seem to stretch the definition of lamb a wee bit which now overlaps into what used to be hogget.
    I seem to remember that buyers would mouth the lambs and any sign of the teeth coming through put them into hogget category. It was then best to chuck them back out in the paddock and put a little more size on them to maximise return as the per kg was less.
    I have a feeling they simply categorise by age now
