@MN5 Tyson was the ultimate weapon. Cus created a boxer, defensively, like no other. We had not seen, nor since, head and body movement like Tyson. I think Tyson is the second greatest heavyweight. But he could have ended Ali when both in their prime. Just the same as Ali could have gotten into his head and mind fucked him into being over-aggressive. Which would have lead to Ali exploiting that weakness.

So hard to call. Smartest of ring smarts and defensive skill VS otherworldly knock out precision, body movement and power.

I'd go Tyson now. 10 years ago I was for Ali .

      Any strongman fans on TSF?

Thor Bjornsson (aka The Mountain from Game of Thrones) deadlifted 501kg at the weekend in his home gym to "break" Eddie Hall's 500kg record competition deadlfit from a few years ago.

These two have an excellent social media feud going ever since Eddie beat him at World's Strongest Man 2017. Thor complained afterwards the (Icelandic) ref did him out of a couple of reps in the squat competition which ended up being the difference in the final wash up. Called Eddie a cheat.

Eddie comes across as a GC, and Thor an absolute knob IMO. Eddie had said beforehand the record doesn't count as its not in competition, but wished him luck all the same for the attempt. Thor right after completing the lift called Eddie a cheat again and challenged him to a boxing match. The paperwork has been signed and they now have a 7 figure fight deal which will be amazing/comical to watch.

Eddie was a champion swimmer back in the day and does a decent amount of fight training on his social media feeds. He's 6'3" 160kg to Thor's 6'9" 205kg (Eddie was much bigger, around 200kg when he did the 500kg deadlift). It will be a great watch, they'll both be gassed inside 3 rounds. Eddie comes across as a bit of a pyscho as well, and was a bouncer before turning pro in strongman.

The Puhoi pub used to do a "mighty Mike" drink.

You got a hit from every bottle round the top shelf pourers and you didn't get up afterwards.

He’s got about 60kg on me. He used to be closer to 200kg if I remember rightly.

He’s pretty handy at pushing tin

I cant argue with that , its funny, when tyson burst onto the scene I was in my early 20s, Ali was my childhood hero ,out of stubborness I wouldnt have it that he could possibly beat Ali , even though deep down in my heart I knew that wouldve been a massive massive danger fight .

The other thing with boxing , just like football , they could fight 10 times and it might be 5-5 , 6-4 , 7-3 whatever . But usually fighters only fight once and thats all we remember , and then from that we say fighter A is better , but quite often their abilities are closer than that one result shows.

@TeWaio the beef has gone backwards and forwards but Eddie doesn't have a clean sheet by any stretch of the imagination. He's actually been the more petulant one imo - at least in terms of this WR lift stuff. I follow SM but hadn't really caught much about the 2017 stuff.

In the last couple of weeks they seemed to get a bit more respectful of each other, and now they are going to box!? ha ha forget the haledon collider, these guys will split some atoms if their fists collide!!

@MN5 it tarnishes his legacy. He may have the itch but this is carni side show shit. No hate on SBW but no one wants to see this except the promoters

The Shannon Briggs vs Tyson fight is only marginally better as a spectacle but being bare knuckle and the fact that Briggs is not as far removed from boxing as Tyson....he could end up dead. For real.

@raznomore Yeah Briggs has still managed to keep himself in shape after all these years (with the help of drugs as well but lets be honest, they're all on the stuff), and people seem to have short memories about Tyson. He quit against a virtual nobody Kevin McBride and was stopped by barely British level Danny Williams 15 years ago ffs.

Comebacks like this never end well, hopefully he gets convinced not to go through with it, similar to when Nigel Benn tried to come back last year.

This scene is actually pretty ironic. Tyson gets a mention but nowadays everything Eddie Murphy says about Joe Louis applies directly to him ! ( and Evander Holyfield )

He quit against a virtual nobody Kevin McBride and was stopped by barely British level Danny Williams 15 years ago ffs.

Comebacks like this never end well, hopefully he gets convinced not to go through with it, similar to when Nigel Benn tried to come back last year.

based on this, how much money for you to jump in the ring with Mike right now?

It would be amusing to see how ‘tough’ SBW, Gallen and the AFL guy whose name I forget actually would be in a round vs a rampant Tyson.

Honestly, fuck that, just fuck that.

Maybe these guys think they could just cover up and last a few minutes defending? But if they even thought about trying to hit Mike, he'd fucking kill them.

This reminds me of a friend who got a hiding from Ray Sefo back in the early 90s when Sefo use to be a bouncer. This was his pre-K-1 days and Sefo must've only been a light heavy/light cruiser at the time, so my mate started acting up because he thought he could take this small bouncer, but he had no idea who he was dealing with and got rightfully wrecked.

When he found out years later who Sefo was and had become, he began bragging about getting knocked out by him, and even became a fan.
