My son and I watched the Gauntlet a while back, that was a decent mindless action flick. Also Sondra Locke gets her gear off.

Yeah that's an underrated Clint flick that is decent entertainment. I prefer chicks with slightly bigger assets than Sondra but each to their own, if you keep on like that I'll start calling you M4L.

In my opinion the best of his lesser known efforts that no one else has seen are Coogans Bluff and the Eiger Sanction.

Right. Dead pool. I found it very funny. It does very well to get you to root for a guy who is actually a complete and utter arsehole. Most of his superhero mates aren't much better than him either, all unlikeable shits. They're more like the scrotes in "Misfits" than the Avengers.

TR, not one for your young TRjr yet. The humour is very adult and relentless, and a lot of the violence is full-on, like if Itchy and Scratchy were made as a live action film.

I might go again.

Deadpool's trailer looked like the most cringiest thing I had ever seen. No one laughed at any of the jokes in the trailer when it was played before other movies. Then it goes and gets good reviews from most people. I will probably still skip it because I don't like superhero movies.

We're you watching The Danish Girl with the blue rinse crowd - every time I've seen the preview the crowd has cracked up. I ignore trailers, I hate them, they give too much away, so I don't know if it's funny personally.

There's a scene in the trailer where he cuts off a guys head and kicks it at the dead bad guys mates, that awesome on so many levels.

Yeah Deadpool was great, good translation from the comics and very funny. Dragged the wife to it, and even she enjoyed it.

Worth a second watch to hear all the jokes.

Finally got around to watching Django Unchained over about three sittings on Netflix. Funny how my thoughts mirrored those above on The Hateful Eight - long sequences of dialogue and stories and whatnot, lots of blood and violence. And the word "******" sprayed around like crazy. Jeez!

Overall I quite enjoyed it - seemed to pace fairly well and the spaghetti western homage elements were there. It didn't really have one peak like I was expecting, but had a few major events that keep it kicking along. The end was almost anticlimactic as a result.

Anyway, I'm giving it 4 mandingos out of 5.

The problem for you is that I have a different opinion on something you thought was great. You should have done what most people and thought 'that guy's an idiot, who cares what he thinks.' Nepia and Kirwan both did this. Instead you couldn't accept that and go on your way loving what you thought was a great film. You decided you needed to disparage hundreds of people you have never met. I think it says more about you than them, personally.

I thought this movie was meant to be a comedy/super hero movie? Isn't it supposed to be funny? Shouldn't the trailer give you some indication as to whether or not the film was going to be enjoyable? Nepia said earlier that the film was basically a comedy. I just don't find avocado sex, references to Rosie O'Donnell or the topographical map of Utah particularly funny. Again, if other people do, good for them.

You also said you don't like super hero movies, so I expect your opinion is somewhat skewed when commenting on the trailer of a super hero movie?

No it is because I have a low tolerance for a complete and utter bullshit arguments. All you needed to say was I don't want to see it as I don't like super hero movies. Your non sequitur argument that it isn't funny as supposedly a random group of people didn't laugh at a trailer is ... retarded.

You don't need to justify why you don't want to see it, you don't like super hero films.. fair enough. But you went beyond that to actually drawing a conclusion on a film that you hadn't seen.. on a genre that you don't like, based on the non reaction of an audience to a trailer.

I don't want to see Revenant... looks kinda boring. Plus the audience didn't show a dramatic enough reaction to the trailer. So clearly it is a crap drama, quite a few people were using a phones during the trailer for Revenant! I was gonna see it.. but then I saw those people not paying attention to the trailer.. so I will give it a miss.

I have a low tolerance for using deliberately insulting language like 'retard' to describe people you have never met. In this situation you are not understanding what I'm saying.

This was my first comment:

My comment here clearly in relation to the trailer. All I was saying here was that the trailer was the most cringiest thing I had ever seen. You said in your post that I made a non-sequitur argument that the movie wasn't funny. Do tell me when I said that? In this post I only said that the trailer looked cringey to me. It would be a non-sequitur if I said that the movie wasn't funny; that's why I never said it! Then I related a personal experience. It was a personal experience - Nepia watched the Big Short and Deadpool's trailer got a lot a laughs. Again, I didn't try to tell Nepia that his personal experience was wrong and he didn't try to tell me that my personal experience were wrong. We didn't do this because we both acknowledged that they were our personal experiences.

My next comments were then acknowledging that the movie had got good reviews. I also said I will probably still skip it. This means that there is a chance I may still see this movie. If I do see this movie, it will be because of the exceptional critical praise which it has achieved. If someone I know wants to see this movie, I will probably see it with them. I just won't go out of my way to see it.

Now if I had enjoyed Deadpool's trailer and it had received the same level of critical acclaim it has, then I would go out of my way to see it. A movie basically needs two factors to fall into place for me to want to go out of my way to see it. It needs to be highly critically regarded, have a good trailer or be part of a genre I particularly like. Deadpool only has one of those factors, the critical acclaim. If it was of a genre I enjoyed or if the trailer was enjoyable to me, then I would go and see the movie. This is why the trailer was important to me. Your assertion that the only reason I'm not going to see the movie because of the genre is wrong. I can see how you got that impression from my original post but liking the genre/liking the trailer are of equal importance to me.

As to your next point, I have not drawn any conclusion on Deadpool. I have acknowledged repeatedly that the film has been well received.

As to your final point on the Revenant. Again I never said Deadpool was a poor movie. You are allowed to say what you want about the Revenant. It is no skin off my back. The Revenant was a cinematically excellent film but it wasn't particuarly engaging for me. It was a little boring. Your opinion of the Revenant will not affect my opinion of the Revenant.

Again, I was just giving my personal experience of the behaviour I observed other people exhibiting. If you went to a movie and during the trailer of the Revenant people were actually bored then you can say that happened. If you never experienced that then you can't say it. If you went to another movie and people there loved the Deadpool trailer, you can say that as well (as Nepia did). Your personal experiences cannot be wrong. I was just relaying a story which happened to me in my actual life. You then decided to call these people retards.

You also claim in this post that my non-sequitur arguments are retarded. Regardless, you should note that you are now retreating away from your earlier claim. You earlier implied that the people in the theatre are retards; now you are outright stating that my arguments are retarded. My initial objection to the use of the word retarded was when it was directed at innocent theatre goers you had never met. Now that you are only calling my arguments retarded that is still disappointing but less so.
