Woodley Vs Burns is the fight no one asked for and no one wanted to see. Woodley vs Covington or Woodley vs Usman 2 or Covington vs Usman 2 or Woodley vs Street Jesus or Street Jesus vs Covington...all on a ppv at a later date would be preferable to this

I saw it and really enjoyed it

      Woodley looked bemused and bereft

      And well beaten

@MiketheSnow I enjoyed Burns effort but not Woodley. He’s looking so one dimensional now.

Rest of the card good. I think I preferred the larger stadium than the UFC gym though.

The echo made strikes sound brutal in the empty arena's

The could improve a few things about the apex events

          • The audio mix could change. More fight noise, less coaches yelling
          • I prefer the full size octagon. I know they won't change that though.
          • Buffer makes a difference. Martinez asking a non existent crowd to make some noise is shit
          • I hate the interview setup. I get that Nevada has not allowed the octagon interviews. Instead of headphones and a split screen why not have a large table with the fighter standing on one side and DC/Rogan on the other?

Yeah I felt like the fighters were cramped. Although the flying front kick from Spike to start the round probs doesnt happen in a full size octogon.

Martinez is like a boxing announcer. He's there to announce the fighters, which he does, but hes not part of the event.

Im not sure I would have Bisbing and DC co commentate again.

              Garbrandt's punch yesterday was spectacular

4:59 in round 2. He takes a risk by crouching and throwing everything into one punch and lands it perfectly. It looks like a bullshit movie punch

Here's a gif someone posted on the sherdog forum

Lots of shit slinging going on but the next wave of superstars were well on show this card.

Was hugely impressed with Coconut Bombs, Sugar Sean, Perez and Cody No love.

How good is the Goat though. She’s amazing.

                        UFC 251 is stacked already

                        Three title fights:
                        Usman v Burns
                        Volkanovski v Holloway
                        Yan v Aldo

Rose v Andrade rematch is good too

@Duluth Hoping Rose comes correct and sees off a very lucky Andrade. I understand you have to put yourself in a position to win and Andrade did that but Rose is a much better fighter.

I expect Aldo to get torched by Yan but hoping he wins and immediately retires.

Max gets his belt back. I love both these guys but I think Holloway will be much better this time.

Usman vs Burns is hard to judge. They are teammates so it makes for a great fight. I'm going to go with Burns, just because.

@MiketheSnow I love the concept. Not sure how all the traveling works for all parties involved but I'm hopeful we get an Enter The Dragon/Mortal Kombat themed event.

This fight has been pencilled in for a while. It finally got confirmed today

This is a tough fight for Hooker. A victory gets him the mix with the huge names of the division - Khabib, Gaethje, Ferguson and that Irish guy who probably isn’t retired

@Duluth Pourier is an elite striker. This is someone that soundly beat Max Holloway, 2 times. I can’t see Hooker winning but I’ll be cheering all the way.

I'm a fan of both fighters too. Volkanovski is the only guy in the division I cheer for ahead of Max.

That first fight was dominant from Volkanovski, Hollway would have to make significant changes. It was slightly closer towards the end but Volkanovski had a broken hand by then..

One thing that might be in Max's favour is the camps. I assume he's doing his normal preparation.

Alexander normally finishes his fight camp in Auckland but he can't do that this time because of covid. He claims it won't matter but it has to be a negative.
Riddell is one of his striking coaches and surely being around Adesanya and Hooker must help sharpen things up

Some news about Adesanya's next title defence. He's pencilled in to headline a card in Vegas this September.

That small APEX octagon might help Costa

Riddell talks about the card in this interview:

Hooker looked bloody huge at the weigh-ins and came in half an lb lighter than Pourier. I hope we get knees and feints from Hooker this time out. He's not the stand and trade fighter he thinks he is. He needs to be a sniper against Dustin.

Hooker looked bloody huge at the weigh-ins and came in half an lb lighter than Pourier. I hope we get knees and feints from Hooker this time out. He's not the stand and trade fighter he thinks he is. He needs to be a sniper against Dustin.

                                        Spot on.

Toe to toe will end badly.
