I was working at Ruakura when the Chiefs arrived on the campus.I was able to watch most of their trainings, and got to experience up close the work of Rennie ,Smith,Coventry,Andrew Strawbridge and Carl Hoeft. They all had their time running trainings, and most impressive they all were. They had immediate success ,so have been a fan ever since.

I think the current config max is 41k?

They should add the temp seats in front of the North and South stands

@Duluth Great result for the Blues. Man this tournament has been a breath of fresh air and it's awesome to see the fans get out in force for their respective teams.

I wonder if he's on a mixed development/full time contract where he's on a development contract for the first year or two, then it's a full time contract on the back-end. I think we've given out these types of contracts to young promising players in the past.

@Dice I was wondering the same thing. He hasn't even played Mitre 10 Cup, yet.

@nzzp well I didnt wanna say that, as I sometimes get accused of bias... 😉

Very unfair too. We know that you are biased, the accusations are completely unnecessary.

I actually think that Dalton is a good player but apparently I only think that is because he plays for one of the teams that I support. Go figure.

I am shocked. How could people think that when you're promoting a player who retired 25 or so years ago?

Yes, been through that with @taniwharugby . Apparently Andy lives just up the road from me too.

Now if I could just learn to spell Papalii. Papilli'i. Dalton is fine.

@KiwiMurph Saw a post from Zarn Sullivan about it being a great night for him and his partner. With the comment "Fingers crossed it won’t be our last ..". That seems to suggest that he doesn't have a (development) contract with the Blues for next year; or am I reading too much in this comment?

Maybe he's hoping to be part of the full Blues squad? Be a good fullback addition with Duffie going.

Blues CEO comments yesterday suggest contracts are being finalised over the next few weeks.

@Tim Patty T when receiving his award payed homage to both Tom Robinson and Josh Goodhue as part of the senior leadership who keep the players striving both on and off the field with their work ethic especially in an around training and keeping the spirt strong within the group..Goodhue has re signed with the Blues..

It would be quite nice if the Blues got a cheque for every player coming through their region that plays elsewhere. Around a third of M10 players I believe.

It would also be nice if offshore teams had to pay NZ to take players ... but down that path can lie madness

@KiwiMurph this was pretty funny too

“We gave him every opportunity to stay, but he wasn't willing to stay here and compete, and he's taken another path.’’ Robertson said.

no chance of course that he wanted to grow his game in a new environment. If he makes the ABs, I'll chortle quietly to myself.

So many years of getting the Kane of the Barretts, and wrecking 10s. Redemption y'all.
