Speaking of Māori food - kina is disgusting. I'm pretty sure half the people who eat it do so for cultural reasons rather than taste reasons.
Kina is nice but it gives me the worst crook guts imaginable. You know it’s bad when you make yourself sick with the stench

I love Kina roe fresh from the sea. Can't buy it in those little pottles, has to be fresh

When I was a kid I had to eat it as I'd go out with my Dad to get in, but I'd always avoid it on the marae. Now, I'm very vocal in my keep that shit away from me. Bah, this discussion has made me feel like marae steam pudding.

Pie sambos are also fine if its a cheap mince pie and you're just stretching it further.
Warm crusty white loaves with a beef bourg or stew is magic

That's not terribly controversial. I always tell people that apart from its sublime moments, it's a game you're better off playing. Even then to really appreciate it you need to have played.
