The identity of the players involved in the breach has not been revealed.

Considering the full 22-man squad for this game has already been published, it will be easy to find out who the culprits are, once they have to give the names of the players who'll actually play the match.

Unless none of them can as they've mingled.

Apparently not. Trouble is, it is 11 out of the 23. An appeal for Covid tested players has gone out . Not much time though. This game has gone from meaningless to complete farce.

I assume the generous appearance fee for the Baabaas' players means they won't be short of players putting their hand up to play, even in the times of covid.

Simmer of their best players, too "The Guardian has been told that Robshaw and a number of the squad’s Saracens contingent, understood to include Richard Wigglesworth, Sean Maitland and Jackson Wray, were among 12 players who went out for dinner in central London. "

12 players stood down for attending a dinner with Chris Robshaw, the Barbarians think they've found 12 Covid-tested replacements.

Saracens players caught breaking the rules again....

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/54656359

Chris Robshaw, Richard Wigglesworth, Sean Maitland and Jackson Wray are among 12 Barbarians players stood down from Sunday's fixture against England after breaking Covid-related rules.

The players left their hotel bubble contrary to team protocols to have dinner at a central London restaurant.

Sunday's game is in the balance as the Barbarians try to recruit enough players to replace those stood down.

However, indications are that they remain confident of raising a team.

As well as Wigglesworth, Wray and Maitland, it is understood a number of other Saracens players were also involved.

Barbarian FC expressed their "extreme disappointment" in the conduct of the players who breached the regulations.

They had only announced their 23-man squad on Wednesday and face a considerable task replacing those expelled.

Cardiff RFC said on Friday that centre Max Llewellyn, son of former Wales lock Gareth, and full-back Ioan Davies had been called up to the squad.

An update on whether the game can go ahead is expected later on Friday.

@sparky It defies belief doesn’t it? Why not wait just a feW days? It’s not exactly a hardship. Disappointed in Robshaw I have to say.

To go for dinner too. Like they can't visit London for dinner any other time?

@Catogrande I'm more forgiving to the younger guys involved. They were excited to be in the Barbarians environment and followed what the older guys were doing.

For the senior players involved, it is extremely prattish. They were being put up, at great expense, in the JW Marriott Grovesnor House Hotel on Park Lane, one of the swishest hotels in the UK. Yet they couldn't remain there for four evenings during a pandemic!

Glad the Barbarians are able to put a new squad together.

FFS. It's not as if rugby has been hit by the pandemic so lightly it can afford to cancel a prestigious game. Not a good look if the RFU ever needs to ask for government support.

Even worse, I was looking forward to watching the game.

Fuck me, that's pretty bad. You'd expect some serious apologies coming out. The other view might be, with a breach of 12 and another (number not started) were the rules properly explained and/or consequences fully emphasized.
