Nah, they both won one and didn't win one. Plus, we're not the NH who measure everything in rugby by the RWC.

That's why I also included their winning % in tests.

There isn't much in it, but Henry had the advantage of having some of our all-time greats during his entire tenure while Hansen didn't during the final 4 years. Having the cattle helps.

I think though Henry had to build a team from a very low base (on field and of field) whereas Hanson’s inherited that cattle and mostly kept it going. I think Hanson had the advantage, with noir much in it 🙂

They said the same thing about Phil Jackson. He did have the core of a great team, that is without doubt. But we have had excellent teams in the past and failed to be as successful let alone win Bill (remember 4 more years?)

Which is why the succesion planning is so important. I just don't feel that Hansen did that all very well - sure you have to have the talent but I think we did (Carters and McCaws aside). That is why we couldn't beat the Lions (ignoring french refs) and lost to Ireland - twice. It was some poor planning. That is why he isn't a legend for me.

Oh, our other "excellent" teams all had flaws too. Mostly mentally and that is due to coaching and on field leadership.

that is 5 hefty insults for the price of one! Which one was meant to sting the most?!
I particularly like the fat Judas comment-"yep I am sacrificing everything meaningful in my life but don't anyone dare call me overweight.."

Premiership club Harlequins have signed scrum-half Lewis Gjaltema from New Zealander side North Harbour.

The 22-year-old will link up with the Quins squad at the start of 2021.

North Harbour play in Mitre 10, the provincial domestic tournament in New Zealand, and are affiliated with Auckland-based Super Rugby side Blues.

"Lewis is a hard-working, English-qualified nine with a strong core skillset," Quins head of rugby Paul Gustard told the club website.

"We have been watching Lewis in the Mitre 10 Cup for a while, where he's had many impressive performances."

Quins have not disclosed the length of Gjaltema's contract at the Twickenham Stoop.

I always felt he was underrated and suffered from staying loyal to Harbour stuck behind Hall who always played 70 - 80 minutes every week. Still only 22 so watch him be pushing for the England squad in a couple of seasons!

@Stargazer That thins the Blues region loose head depth somewhat. Disappointed Adams wasn't picked up for a super team. He played for the Sun Wolves last season so already had that Japanese connection.

@Yeetyaah I think he won't be the only player retiring from the group of players that returned home from overseas, this year. I loved watching Osborne play when he was at his best.

Do we put this down to Rennie bolstering Aussie locking stocks?

Tucker must now be a full squad member at the Highlanders, and maybe they have also signed a new lock.

Whetton was probably rated 4th at the Highlanders? He is probably just looking for more game time

Whetton obviously spent time in Aus, so not a biggie for him to go back I guess.

Main issue is his (and Caird's) long term ambitions, you have to think they are open to the idea of playing for the Wallabies down the track if the opportunity presents itself?

How in the fuck can we be losing talent like this to Oz when the Canes are rolling out 190cm loose forwards as starting locks?

Something appears to be a bit rotten with NZ rugby at the moment.

He already qualifies for both NZ and Aus, hence my question, I actually think he is choosing the dark(canary yellow) side
