@Yeetyaah For some reason, I can't see what you've posted, but I assume it's about this?

@Nepia Not much, unless he has already coached while still playing. If this article is correct, he's been a backs coach at Garryowen since March 2020, after being forced to retire from playing.

So is that a straight swap for Carlos?

I thought it was due to cutting costs when they laid Carlos off.

Cory also had very little experience. But at least eh was involved with the Canes and Wellington. This appointment seems an odd one

Tyler was obviously very cheap, is not like he has a huge CV to up his coaching value!

@Nepia @stargazer At least he has not become yet another ex Canterbrian that has been foistered onto us at the Magpies so that, at least, is something to be thankful for. The restless nights from the Philpott era (error?) still cause me difficulty.

Be interesting to see if he can accomplish anything better than the Hammatuer?

Spencer's job included backs, defence and skills. IIRC, Cory Jane is the defence coach? The Hurricanes' media release doesn't say what Bleyendaal's job will be. I assume he'll be the backs coach?

I'm glad the Canes signed someone from outside Wellington .... Maybe he's the one who can be convinced that the Canes need someone like McClutchie instead of another unproven Wellington kid! :face_with_monocle:

No game in Napier, this year. (Also not in the Poo).
They probably would have had a better chance of a reasonably filled stadium for the Rebels game, if they'd given it to McLean Park. Now, we'll just see empty seats in Sky Stadium.

@Stargazer They are not showing much confidence by not naming Sky Stadium as the venue for the home final! Maybe they are just being realistic?

@Stargazer I'd rather Garden-Bachop at 10 than McLutchie, he was solid for the Canes this year and deserves the first opportunity. McLutchie is good on attack but he's been nothing but a turnstile on defence at Mitre 10 level, which I'm assuming is why he doesn't have a contract with anyone.

I'm hoping that out of all the options Ruben Love is the guy that gets the most development in the next year. I feel like he will be the Canes main playmaker in the future. Looks to be the best equipped.

                          About Southland midfielder Ray Nu’u:

MacLeod said they have managed to link Nu’u with the Hurricanes for the Super Rugby preseason which would be good for his progress.

I thought preseason started in January for all franchises, but looking at the Hurricanes' social media, the Canes are already training. Maybe not all of them? Or only the Wellington players? I have definitely seen Goosen, Proctor, Kirifi, PU-J, Patafilo and Fifita.

@Stargazer the Blues have got all their rookies in pre Christmas for some speed/skills work. The Ioane brothers and Tanielu Tele'a were in as well....getting optional extras in I guess?

@Stargazer I think it's just a case of putting in those extra yards. I've heard Kirifi has set a fairly high standard in that department and I guess some of the players are following suit.

I heard from a source who’s was cut from Canes Management that the plan he had set in place to sign the up and coming players out of the provinces eg McClutchie went out the window when he got booted not sour grapes from this guy but he reckons this years team will be the worst ever.
