    Weird.
I think hooker is 2nd most important position after first-five.

Got to get your own lineout ball.

As Zinzan Brooke prepares for the 25th anniversary of the most remarkable drop goal ever scored at a RWC, the No8 finally has some good news for England.

Just been selected for the England U20 EPS. Not that they are in much danger of playing any rugby any time soon.

Hopefully the Mum's genes dilutes Zinny's genes.

4 and 5 at the top of the list...

I suppose the theory is that if the target is good enough they can get anyone to throw it?

I really think WR need to stop subs, water carriers or anyone other than the players on the field and officials doing anything other than watch.

I hate seeing subs rush into the in-goal to celebrate a try, or like this one, touch the ball which prevents the opportunity for a quick throw (even if it wasn't really on in this case)

@taniwharugby If a non on field player/support staff touches the ball to prevent a quick thrown in then it should be a penalty to the other team.

    And a big fine, IMO.

Absolute scumbag cheat behavior from that water carrier/trainer. Should get a permanent ban from professional rugby. Team should be punished too, and possibly docked points.

Is it cheating though? They are allowed to touch the ball once it's out, aren't they? There is no rule against it is there?

Genuinely asking as I don't see a problem with it to help your team.

@Hooroo He's one team's trainer, not the match's official ball boy. He absolutely is not allowed to interfere with play in anyway, including trying to prevent a player from getting the ball.

If you don't see a problem with a non-player interfering to "help your team", then I honestly question whether you understand the concept of cheating, as you've given a definition of it.

OK, I just saw the outbreak on the smallest of vids. I couldn't see what he had done and had assumed he had just touched the ball rather than preventing anyone on getting it?

If the ball is rolling his way is he supposed to get out of his seat and out of the way of it se it doesn't hit his legs?

    What actually happened?

Yeah, I don't have a problem with that. I would do it too. I wouldn't stop him from being able to grab the ball though.

World Rugby should bring in a rule to clear it up.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with that. I would do it too. I wouldn't stop him from being able to grab the ball though.

Once he touched it that was the same as grabbing the ball, can't do a quick throw. Is just cheating, the need to go full soccer and put those fluffybunnies in an area until let out

But is it cheating? That was my original question. What are the rules around this? If the ball is heading to the bench are the bench to evacuate the area?

@Hooroo if he hadn't reached for it, the other guy might have got it first and been able uo do a quick throw in, either way, a player who ys not 1 of the 30 on the park has deliberately touched the ball to affect play.

Yeah I get that, like a if a ball boy touches it, it can't be used for a quick throw.

I just don't have a problem with it if there is no rule around it.

@Hooroo think ball boys are different as that's thier role, but yea unsure what the exact rules are.

Not for quick throws they aren't. If they touch it, it can't be used for a quick throw.
