    Motherless Brooklyn

Neo-noir crime drama set in 1950's NYC directed by and starring Ed Norton as a PI trying to solve the murder of his mentor.

Yeah thought it was gonna be a tough/slow watch but Norton's quirky character makes it much easier. Recommend. Fair few other faces too, Willis, Dafoe, Alec Baldwin, Michael K Williams.

    3.5 if's out of 5 if's.

I got confused and gave up at "neo-noir".

    Youse cnts are so intellectual

Says the guy with an ancient statue as his avatar and a west African spiritual folkway for a name.

Is that what I have? Damn, that's so awesome!!!

I feel like I've finally made it.

About 15mins into The Untouchables, not my pick obviously, bit dull so far, Kevin Costner at his most handsome though.

@R-L A very good movie, and some great one-liners later in the film.

pffft, sounds like someone doesn't like shootouts or Scotsmen playing Irishmen.

@MN5 I really enjoyed it actually!!! Surprised me, great cast, the only thing I was a bit 🤔 about was the baby in the pram scene and when Sean Connery character was shot to pieces but still managed to drag himself across a floor and communicate! Otherwise, yeah good!

Yeah I must try and catch it again sometime, Before Robert De Niro went all woke and anti Trump he was a fucken fantastic actor too, his portrayal of Capone was superb.

Fantastic actor but comes across very dickish with his anti Trump rants ( as virtually all celebs do )

    @MN5 what in the fuck!

If ever there was a moment to test the friendship pal! Deadpool is fucking choice and I do not say that word often.
(2 reasons. I live in Australia and they expect me to say it. The other is it's a fucking stupid saying from the 80s that has massively outlasted its significance. It's like the Exponents of slang)

I wasn’t a fan and I’m surprised people are so worked up about it to be honest

@MN5 this is not the post I expected. I’ll leave it there...

In other news Wonder woman 198....who gives a fuck was shit. Well acted but the story sucked and the execution was worse. Gadot still hot even though Linda Carter was other worldly hot and shits all over the new model. Pedro Pascal was wasted as a bad guy and who else thought it was weird that Steve came to be how he did. Well done to Kristen Wiig for cementing her place as hot, funny and criminally under used and underrated. The best part is the opening 10 min.

He's been in some classics. Not sure about the "likeable" bit, the whole sex trafficking, prostitution thing wasn't proven, but it did sound a bit dodgy. It was in "The Independent" from memory and I assume that they wouldn't open themselves up to a libel challenge without something behind the story. Then again maybe they would?

@Snowy I'm not sure you are one to judge... 🤔

He's an even better actor if he comes across as a likable guy and isn't actually very nice, I had no idea about those accusations!

Definitely not judging - don't even know if it's true! He was questioned by the police in Paris over the whole thing and it was published in various papers. Let's say I wouldn't be comfortable with my daughter (hypothetical) going to one of his parties. I'm happy to go with great actor in some great movies and leave it there, and yes it does make him an even better actor, he can do creepy quite well too though. Cape Fear comes to mind.

That shot could be used like the Leo one...
