I noted that Fairmont made another appearance in the national news earlier in the week. His bro Fairlane also got a mention.

Can only assume that their sister Escort was out on a "job".

This palooka looks ridiculous, all painted up as if he's off to a Maccas McBirthday Party with the other kiddies.

I see he has developed a "I'm ruly tuff" glare but I suspect he is as substantial a man as Jake The Muss - he deserves the stupid name he carries.

I comment because, in an idle moment, the numbers did not add up. New Zealand has less people than Queensland, the GDP per capita is 58% of Queensland's. Average weekly earnings are 65%. It is difficult to make a proper quid.

How can a city of 381,000 - smaller than Canberra, a little bigger than the Sunshine Coast or the Central Coast - sustain the lifestyle of four gangs of boofheads like Datsun 120Y? The "stuff" link says they sell drugs for a living when the crudest analysis says they really need to get a job.

There has to be more than four gangs in the city.

70% of Christchurch is aged 15 to 60, 267,000 people. If 20% of 'em spends $200 per week on drugs - 20% of their average weekly earnings ... stop right there, they cannot afford it.

So a lot of children go hungry while their parents shoot up and go broke, while the gang members go to gaol for fighting each other over crumbs.

You've got a lot of dimwits over there!

You also missed the "joke" I think, albeit not very good. Escort, Ford cars, working girls, hand jobs, blow jobs...

I wasn't talking about here, I was talking about there.

As it happens we sent 30 of the least welcome back in a big plane thingy in October, when they finished their gaol sentences. Saint Jacinda got a bit sad and angry about it, preferring to ignore the law.

You also missed the "joke" I think, albeit not very good. Escort, Ford cars, working girls, hand jobs, blow jobs...

Perhaps I should have substituted "Cortina" for "Datsun 120Y" (because that is all the drongo pictured could afford) for you to notice.

@booboo How can this be? Another year without Dogmeat making the list. I suggest it to every expectant parent I meet.

    Gobsmacked.

Im not straying too far into this discussion....

Im not sure if I mentioned this before but my now former kiwi neighbours from across the road named their kids Lexus, Mercedes, Shelby & Chevrolet. Shelby the only boy.

Not joking, Shelby would not have been my first guess. Mercedes will definitely be a stripper.

@Machpants Because I believe in effective time management (read "judge book by its cover") nothing in that story surprises me. It does however further cement my prejudices.

That’s as bad as your Star Wars memes.
Edit: although I do think he’ll mullet over before going in for a cuddle.

@Machpants Gets met specially by an air ambulance, re-routed to a more suitable hospital on inspection and the parents first thought is to complain.

Bogan is as bogan does, I guess.

Exactly. Having had a stint in hospital myself lately my ( and I'd imagine most folks ) initial response is to thank and praise emergency staff for doing the amazing stuff they do.

    Fucken munters.

Agreed. Dogs running around in an excited state and parents of a three year old think it's fine he approaches a strange dog and attempts to strangle it. Dog and owner now face a high price. Kid is psychologically impacted . Parents complain about first world health care response.

Probably smelt more like smoke than teen spirit.

Hopefully she’s all apologies when she’s older.
