I wonder how many Paine wants?

Aust. currently has a lead of 292 and they've been going at 3.7 in this innings.

If India were to go at that rate and not lose wickets they'd run that down in 79 overs - with a good part of a session to spare if it doesn't rain.

The way they're playing, you'd guess 320 was his target, unless it's just have a go lads and see how many we can get in a hurry.

    Nine down now.

Very un-Australian if the musings of aggressive declarations earlier today by the Fox commentators of leads less than 300 are anything to go by...

I think Australia have effectively taken one result out of the equation - they have about 100 more runs than the highest successful chase at the GABBA.

pfffft, even Chris Martin had a batting average of 12 at one stage......a barnstorming knock of 7 on debut ( this included a four ).....then a watchful 0 not out then a swashbuckling 5 not out ( complete with another four ).....after that it was nine innings in a row of no runs but admittedly a few of these were unbeaten.

Isa seems to be saying 127 overs still left in the match - 322 ahead.

India would need to go at fractionally more than 2.5 to get that.

Only rain would stop a result.

@Chris-B isn't that assuming full overs get bowled which almost never happens?

I love how the commentators keep talking up India. Australia are so in the box seat it’s not funny.

Good bowling Siraj. A few of the more established Indian pace men might be looking over their shoulders, nervously.

India have to be pleased with their second string bowling lineup all things considered - lost the toss and bowled Australia out twice.

Dunno - but, India will easily have time to get these regardless if it doesn't rain and they're good enough. They went at 3 in the first innings.

    328 to get is it?

    I'd reckon 25+90 ... 115 overs left (excl. rain)

2.84 rpo is about the minimum rate, ... if they can last.

They’re saying 25 overs left today and then all tomorrow. Sure there are overs to get them but I think the Aussie bowlers will cause India to have a mountain of dot balls

    @ACT-Crusader Yeah!

In all seriousness, hardly anyone ever makes these.

But, there will be trembling if the Indians are 80/0 tonight!

They aren't going to get many overs in before the next rain.
