@Tim colour me pessimistic, but I really struggle to see a league player coming over quite late into his career, being able to adjust to the midfield in both attack and defence in union, especially considering he only plays fullback in league doesn't he?

Interesting - his NZ Schools coach said he thought midfield might be his spot.

Andrew Douglas coached the New Zealand secondary schools rugby team 10 years ago that Tuivasa-Sheck was a part of. He's also previously mentored the St Peter's Cambridge 1st XV, and is in the United States heading Old Glory DC in Major League Rugby.

"I could actually see him at centre long term. Defensively reads really well… his ability to straighten up on attack and put others in space could be a real asset there too," Douglas says

he'll be a winger. are there even rules that pertain to the winger?

also, the AB selectors have proven over the past couple of years that they don't give a fuck about the positioning of the guy selected at 14, so he doesn't even have to learn that.

He's already better under the high ball than any of the other options, is quicker, stronger, and has better feet than them as well.

Not sure of the relevance of your foot fetish, but thanks for the info 👍

I would love to see him play 5/8 for the Warriors. I think he’s a natural ball player, but because of his speed has played in the outside backs. He’s a pretty unique talent. I’m thinking a cross between Milner-Skudder and Tuitupo

Yep. That has Foster written all over it. Surprised that he isn't being touted as a prop.

well I'm certainly not paying for it, my heritage wouldn't allow that.

Sigh, guess I'll go and rummage through the bins out front of the dairy.

far from me to defend the publication or the writer but...

there is a pervading opinion throughout the NRL that a player or a coach is entirely incapable of playing for a team if he has signed anywhere else for the next season.

My horribly stereotypical take is that the vast majprity of league fans are unprofessional dimwits who project their thoughts on to thie players "if i had lined up another job i would do fuck all until i left. prob just take heaps of sickies" and thus to them a player will just quit and not try and win.

you watch this year when contracts for next year start being signed, there will be calls for the player to go immediately.

@MN5 if he ever had any job opportunities outside of the Ferald I'd love to throw this back at him if he wrote for Stuff or Newshub. Oh no, the betrayal!

So I'm assuming Rattue hates any Super player who has played for more than one franchise ?

Oh silly me, he just hates Rugby full stop, that's right.

far from me to defend the publication or the writer but...

there is a pervading opinion throughout the NRL that a player or a coach is entirely incapable of playing for a team if he has signed anywhere else for the next season.

Or the media helps drive this fear so when they reach for their daily telegraph or courier they go insane. To be honest I would say there is a healthy dose of both. Clearly though this was just Rattue/Reason clickbait that elicited the exact response the paper was after.
