Watching the Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial service. Ten years ago, today. So much pain still, and tears. This will stay with those affected forever.

Haha yeah triggered a little. I'm PMSL over all the restrictions the CCC is now looking to impose on their own MUA. Curfews and limits to the number of loud events ie concerts, which are the main fucking reason for this debacle of a stadium.

          Sheer and utter incompetence.

Pretty common things for stadiums though. EP, Caketin etc all have restrictions on curfew/ noise limits/ amount per year.

@stargazer I think of myself as a “hard man “ but some stuff still gets to me. Trucks going past and shaking buildings etc. It was a horrible time that will
Be with us for the rest of our lives.

Costs rising by the month (steel alone - reinforcing, structural and fixings - worldwide will be up around 25% from a couple of months ago, come next month), means the scope can only shrink and remarkably the CCC are still fucking around trying to buy a building on the fucking site.

When is some c*nt in a position of power or with a public profile going to finally call these useless fucks out over their inordinately dumb idea to build an indoor stadium with the budget at hand??

@antipodean Forsyth Barr only has 15k permanent seats and only gets to capacity for AB games. so for 90% of games this stadium is going to have 10k MORE seats than forsyth barr

i think that works as far as permanent seats but they should work on upping the number of temp ones they can add for AB games

I also look at the current "temporary stadium", in the years i lived in chch i never struggled to get a ticket for AB games and that only have a max capacity of 25k

                                  mr google told me

The North and South stands have a permanent seating capacity of approximately 20,000 spectators of which 18,000 are Alloyfold’s Albany stadium chairs.

this does not include the zoo or west stand only xtra seating not up permanently is east stand so 25000 ? permanent seating

@ploughboy i just went off the wiki which gave the minimum seating as 15k which i had assumed was the permanent seats

even if those numbers were off, the zoo is almost never full...so if anything we're saying they probably went too big in dunners
