Ahh well. Looking forward to seeing Freedom carve it up.

Thanks, but couldn't they do a better highlights video? That's ridiculously naff! Two tries and one is just him falling over the line 😂

@bones the fall over the line one was his first for Otago I think but the one v southland was pretty good

I’m seeing all the videos on the offical socials showing all these tries the canes have scored against us...we won the last game!

I'm quietly hoping the Umaga-Jensen twins square off late in the match.

@stargazer Makes you wonder how many first fives need to be broken before Mitch would get an AB call up.

Not too many at present, I'm thinking.

@dan54 yeah but Proctor hasn’t exactly been amazing. In fact Umaga-Jensen has probably shown more offensively than Proctor, he’s just not seen as a Holland favourite within the Hurricanes camp so therefore remains on the bench.

Holland like workers even if their attacking ability is almost non existent

The coaches seem to be focusing too much on players who are seen as having a better work rate and defence. And not too concerned if their attacking ability is almost non existent

It isn't working. But pluses in this team is Blackwell is no where to be seen and the locks look good now. Coles is back and Love is in the reserves. Leger is limited as all hell at first so hopefully they get Love on early at either first or FB

edit and the limited Armstrong has been rested. He did Ok in his starts against the strong scums but he should either start for a half. Or be rested.

@winger aslong as those plodder type players keep getting picked they will prevent us from getting back to where we were a couple years ago.

Let's just hope the coaches wise up and start the likes of Flanders / PUJ / Love / Scrafton moving forward.

That is going to be really interesting. The coaches insist that Love is an outside back that can play 10 not the other way around. Basically putting him in the same boat as Jordie.
IMO they would be stupid not to take an opportunity to try him at 10 given the season circumstances in that position.

Completely confused as to why PUJ remains on the bench. He outplayed or matched every opponent he came up against last year and the thanks he gets is a seat on the pine? These coaches really know how to knock a young players confidence.

To be fair he has been decidedly average so fat yhis year though, and perhaps that may have something to do with the 9-10 combo. Be loody hard to shine outside them!

How can you be average if you basically never play

Two fairly even line-ups if you ask me.

Is Ngani Punivai injured or has Brown dropped him?

A better hurricanes team this week.

Less influenced on experience more on form finaly

midfield fails to get the ball wide...swap out your wings...makes sense :man_facepalming_light_skin_tone:

i am tempted to put some money on a Vahaakolo try, smith down the blind, pops on the 22 and nothing stops him

@stargazer really? after a 39 point drubbing to the Blues in previous round?

I highly doubt Brown would refrain from playing his best 23 in a must-win game. Highlanders beating Canes could be the difference between finishing 3rd or 4th.

@crucial to be fair Beaudy started out as a fullback before moving into 10. Hopefully Love gets a run there late in the match.

youre not wrong but i dont think Punivai has done enough to say he's the clear option, he's been solid but hasn;t owned it like Nareki has on the other side
