And seeing as it's now the most important thing in the game

how good are the bins going? Another thousand sinbins over the weekend, a couple of them suuuuuper soft.

Yesterday i saw a player binned for being slower than another player. Seriously, how can you be binned for a guy running in to the back of you while you chase a linebreak? It was ridiculous.

29 charges laid this weekend. Half of those probably to Victor Radley, who had himself some kind of game. 2 bins and 4 reports from one match is really really incredibly stupid play. All for the same fucking thing too. I mistakenly thought he was a smart player.

I think Dylan Napa's was the softest of the weekend though.

Half are overkill until the players get the message. I don't think Radley gets it. TJP ironically showed you can go hard..annoy others, get them sinbinned and lead your team to a win.. that's the new play

Some of the soft ones can come about because if there becomes a pattern of regular set restarts you can go to the bin off that as well.

        Warriors would not match offer.

        Probably this, rather than could.

I wonder which Aussie they'll bring in to replace him?

The NQL wing who is going to be outside him will be jumping for joy at the moment.

Actually there is another article where O'Sullivan is quoted that they did provide an offer 🙂

""We made an offer to Peta but unfortunately we couldn’t match the terms he had on the table from his new club and understandably he has to look after his family’s best interests," said Warriors recruitment manager Peter O’Sullivan."

Actually they didnt go for another aussie, they went for a double signing..... instead they extended Pompey's contract which I dont mind, I think he has come on this year after Hiku being injured and they have also extended 18 year old hooker Taniela Otukolo’s contract to the end of the 2024 season. I havent even seen the young hooker play to make a comment.

All this time I didn't realise you worked for Warriors marketing 😉 .

If they wanted to they could have kept him, but they weren't willing to offer him the money. That's fair enough, but it's a wouldn't rather than a couldn't.

I've no issue with Pompey at all, and unsure what relevance the hooker is to this discussion, surely he didn't come out of Hiku's budget considering the Warriors offloaded the injured (before his miraculous recovery) Lawton mid season and went all in on Egan?

ha ha.. I think as fans they owe us all some cash dont you think for still supporting? The only relevance of the hooker is Im guessing perhaps Hiku's wages did go further.. This is the TSF so it is just my opinion and it is just a guess 🙂 .

I just found it curious that all three announcements were in the last couple of days. Co-oincidence maybe, but the salary cap is a constant nightmare for most teams. My guess is that if Pompey had not have stepped up, then they would have offerred Hiku more..

There could have been something left over from Lawton combined with this to secure the kid. If youre going for a gun hooker though you will also need big cash.

TBF they are the sports equivalent of the last few series of The Walking Dead I watched before giving up and I really am just hate watching at this stage. I have to watch so that I can complain each week. 😉

To be completely honest, if I didn't have a mate in Sydney who messages me about the Warriors all the time I reckon my interest in league would have dwindled to just watching the NRL TV highlights each week and the Kiwis if they ever get to play. Too many things annoy me about league these days, mostly due to the Origin fixation.

Wasn't there some hesitation about giving Hiku his current 1-yr contract extension?

and perhaps that was the final reason for signing, warriors only willing to offer +1 and not match the money for that, Cowboys 2

                    eitherway gone end of year

My interest in League has died right off. I used to enjoy watching to see who the gun young Kiwis coming through were. Now with Tonga and Samoa grabbing a number of these players it's ruined it a bit for me. I got intrigued by a few players and looked forward to seeing them running out for the Kiwis against the Aussies but they jumped ship. Looking at you JT.

As someone critical of the concussion ignorance in the nrl, some dues are due for their efforts to fix things. Interesting the response is similar to union fans and followers but the leaguies have taken their medicine late and in a big dose.

Been amusing watching pundits come to terms with it all

Like rugby they'll come round over time and the cries of "taken the tough out of the game" will be replaced by "what a dumb tackle, no sympathy".

Of course the real litmus test will be Oooorrigiiiin! Will they have the balls to remove the reason why anyone from outside the Oz Eastern coast watches it?

                        'spose they'll have to.

the comp is so fucking one-sided

Penrith and Melbourne are daylight ahead of everyone

Parra, Manly, and maybe Souths in the next tier (although Souths have taken two appalling hidings recently)

A losing record gets you to 7th on the ladder.

The Dogs, Brisbane, The Tigers and Cronulla fucking stink. Newcastle are hammered by injuries, and stink, Canberra are awful.

St George, the Titans, Warriors and Cowboys are all sort of middle of the road sides trying to make the 8 and go out straight away.

It's not an open or even season, it's a long slog to the finals so one of the top 2 sides right now can win the GF. Origin will paper over some cracks.

Also, how do you feel being the NSW selectors trying to pick the fullback?

As someone critical of the concussion ignorance in the nrl, some dues are due for their efforts to fix things. Interesting the response is similar to union fans and followers but the leaguies have taken their medicine late and in a big dose.

Been amusing watching pundits come to terms with it all

Like rugby they'll come round over time and the cries of "taken the tough out of the game" will be replaced by "what a dumb tackle, no sympathy".

I agree with you, I like the fact they have had the balls to go really hard at this given the core of their support is not ready for it. Long overdue and following slowly in rugby footsteps (if they dont back track). Origin will be interesting

Not a rugby league fan, so some may disagree with this take. However, I think league is a lot less complicated than rugby union. If you remove the big hits and intense physicality, there is a lot less "there".

I’m scratching my head wondering who would think league is more complicated than union ?

If you can run hard, tackle hard and count to six ( even this isn’t necessary for every team member ) then you’re pretty much ready to play.

Yes, I am not saying anyone disputes that rugby union has more facets to it. I am saying that since rugby league is so much more simple, the speed, intensity and physicality are more attractive features. Therefore, rugby league will suffer a lot more from a crackdown on head high tackles. You are removing one of the core elements of the game.

I played both to fairly respectable levels and league is not a thinking man's game. I enjoyed playing it more looking back, but I'm not a thinking man..... But I did enjoy the finer darker arts of union.

I also think that people who disregard league as a thugs game without skill are fuckwits. Not that @hydro11 said that. But there is a fair level of hate leveled at league by union old boys. Nothing new it's been that way forever. I was in my 7th form year when it was finally allowed, to play league as well as union by my school. I had played league on the sly for years before and it was good to not have to hide. Seems so fucking stupid that it was banned the way it was by so many schools.

I remember being hammered by St Bernard's 1st XV 2 weeks previous to playing their league team. We smashed them(we won by 10...) lol and they had about 8 of their 1st string union guys playing.
