Is interesting, TR Jnr has always been able to differentiate movies with reality and things haven't bothered him, but he has a friend who's mother told us that he has gathered the view (from movies) it is OK to kill someone as long as they are baddies.

Some of the movies he comes and asks me to watch means other kids at school are watching...I'm not too concerned about the violence in them for him, it is the sexual content I am big on controlling. Any movies I have concerns about the level of violence, obviously I watch with him (first time) as he will often watch again, and again...

TR Jnr has watched all the Indie films, except Crystal Skull, when he asks why he cant I tell him it's cos it sucks haha

If Raiders of the Lost Ark is the best fucken action movie of all time then MN5 doesn't get hard ons for Chris Gayle.
Cool useless fact, Harrison Ford stapled his hat onto his head when shooting the horse scenes, so it wouldn't fall off while chasing down that truck with the mutha fucker Ark in it.

Don't you mean isn't ?

Of it's kind Raiders is fucken head and shoulders, no contest but "action" is a pretty big genre so to call it the "best" is a massive call.

The whole series "rewatchability" factor is huge that's why I'm genuinely hoping it pisses down next week so the boys and I have an excuse to watch them all back to back.

A very different genre, but how about kids and Austin Powers? My eldest is on at me about being allowed to watch. As usual, a mate has seen it and therefore he has to as well.

Im not sure a film about a horny pom constantly using the word shag and having it off with Allota Fagina is something for kids.

haha yeah, I have thought about that...but I guess the thing is, he is likely to go out and have sex with girls, but unlikely (hopefully) he will go out and kill people

look, both my kids have watched all the Marvel movies, and Jurassic World. But i find that a little more cartoony than some of the shit in Doom. Raiders would be alright, i reckon my youngest would laugh his tits off at old mate's face melting off. Crusade would be alright i reckon.

I don't have a problem with showing them, i just wouldn't want the little fuckers to ruin my viewing enjoyment by a) asking too many questions, or b) getting bored at any point.

I can not agree more. I find it ridiculous that prime time network shows can depict seriously graphic violence but showing rude bits is strictly verboten. In fact alot of these shows have sex scenes but don't permit nudity. How does that make sense?

I did find that Europe is the opposite to the Anglo world. Nudity and sex are no big deal, but graphic violence is.

Yeah, I was more meaning that the taboo side of it, is a shame.

I sometimes think that surely kids would be worsely influenced by watching a load of violence rahter than a load of s7x

EDIT: I should have quoted TR but I also agree with what you said RS

There should be a rule that female nudity and violence must be of equal quantities and it should apply to TV as well.

Banshee nearly gets there except the graphic nature of the violence isn't matched by the graphic nature of the nudity.
(I could do with less shots of Rebecca's naked butchered body thanks)
I bet there's not even a single song on the soundtrack that mentions the night, the heat, the city, and the street.

There's no way you'll find yourself thinking "I can feel it, I can see it, I hear it, ooooooooooooh I can taste it" at any point.

"Midnight Sax" should be a music genre. Any song that employs the "flicking the reed" technique is in.

nothing screams 80s music like electric drums and sax.

Combine the 2 and you have nearly every movie soundtrack for a decade (and jamaican steel drums too)
