Speedway season is finally over, so I get to watch club rugby again. Except I have out of town visitors tomorrow, so my club rugby season really starts next week...

Only just checked Clive's team list for Saturday's game: both Tiaan Falcon and Jonah Lowe were named on the bench. So the first has already come out of managed isolation and the second is no longer injured!
Edited to add that Lolagi Visinia played for Clive as well. -

@stargazer Is that the number 13's debut for the mighty Texans?
@higgins No, it's at least his 5th game and start. Jayden Stok is a great Napier Boys' 1st XV talent and part of the HB Academy. It's his first year out of school. Can play on both wings, fullback, first five, and this is his third start at centre for the Texans. I've heard that several provinces tried to poach him, but he's apparently decided to stay. Really happy about that! Not sure yet what his best position is. I expect him to play U19s, this year, but he may also end up playing for the HB Saracens.

I watched the Tamatea v Central game (although not all the time). It was a very wet, muddy field, so at some point it was hard to see what team a player belonged to and what jersey number he had on his back. Good game from Tamatea and good to see McClutchie slotting 4 of 5 kicks at goal. Kereru-Symes seems to play the full 80 every week; he had a good, solid game. I noticed him moving to LH prop once the reserve hooker came on. Can't say much more, because I simply couldnt see who was who. -

Hastings v Taradale: cancelledThe top-of-the-table clash between defending champions Hastings Rugby and Sports and Nash Cup holders Taradale Rugby and Sports which was scheduled to be played at Elwood Park won't be played. A child of a Hastings player died earlier this week and both teams will share the competition points.
I had already noticed that several Magpies player posted a photo of the little girl on their instagram, but hadn't thought about the Hastings' connection. There'll be a very sad story behind that photo.
In the same article that quote comes from, a preview of the Tamatea (McClutchie) v Clive (Falcon) game. I seriously hope that the HBRU will stream this game; it should be a good one! Sideline live not streaming a HB club game this weekend, unfortunately.
