@virgil never fails to make me laugh.. So many good episodes.

Agree with Neps, it definitely got better when it came into it's own.

Michael Scott just has to be one of my all time favourite characters in any comedy show, and Dwight.
    alt text still my fave...

That gif is giving me a seizure..

    I'm glad you said seizure.

There is only one truly great reality tv show - Forged In Fire!

Funnily enough this one reality show I've seen a bunch of episodes of - was in Nelson Bay (Oz version not @Chris-B version) over summer and we got rained out so spent the day making cocktails and playing board games with Forged in Fire running constantly.

Started Clarkson's Farm last night with Mrs M and we both enjoyed it. Farmer next door to us mentioned it to us as being a pretty good watch.

I'm not into Top Gear Clarkson, but like his serious documentaries. This comes across as a serious doco with some laddish moments and great characters which Clarkson doesn't try and over-shadow,

Can highly recommend Clarkson's documentaries on the Victoria Cross, The Dieppe Raid, the Artic Convoys and Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

I'm interested in all of those topics but unsure if I can balance that against Clarkson.

Check them out - he's a very different, serious persona. Researches and writes them as well. The one on the VC has a real kick at the end.

A couple of farmers i know commented favourably on social media, and I tend to agree: while still retaining a bit of that Clarkson pigheadedness, it is very well crafted and Kaleb and Gerald are the highlights for me.

Really Kaleb, Gerald and Charlie take the show from passable to bloody good. They are so different from Jeremy, but watching them work together and bounce off each other (Kaleb especially) makes the show about more than just a farmer on a farm.

The problem is I know his actual persona. 😂

I was assuming his Top Gear and associated persona was more likely to be his actual persona than a serious doco persona.

Are you sure you don't know him, you were quick to chuck that armour on. 😉

The way he talks in the VC doco reminds me of Laban commentating, with excited inflections and intonations at incorrect moments. I can stand that for a comedy like Top Gear, but anything serious, no way 🤮

Glitch is pretty intriguing so far and happily enough it is a show that both the other half and I enjoy which has been a struggle of late.

Anyone else seen it ? Intriguing premise ( basically dead folk coming back to life ). As she has pointed out the first series won a bunch of awards but the second and third didn’t so it might turn to shit as so many TV shows do.

Hmmm... Top Review on IMDB starts with:

Season 1 was great. Season 2 was good. But Season 3 was beyond awful.

    And ends with:

...watching Season 3 to its conclusion, left me angry in the end, making me with [sic] I hadn't watched it at all.

So... a qaundary... watch a couple of seasons, and leave it halfway through? Or watch it all for the sake of completeness? Or just ignore it, and admit I've already got 30 seasons of unwatched TV Serieseses downloaded, and that'll just have to do for a while.

I almost always watch shows til the end ( apart from Walking Dead which just got too fucken stupid for words, I think I gave up when that guy with the pet tiger appeared ).

Started watching Limetown, starring Jessica Biel (looks a gazillion times better than in The Sinner and has some of the "magic" back - what a backside).

Journalist Lia Haddock attempts to solve the mystery behind the disappearance of over 300 people at a neuroscience research facility in Tennessee.

Yeah pretty bizarre and has a definite Homecoming slash Lost type feel to it, but with the episodes at under 30 mins it's pretty watchable. Give it a go.

@bones I watched 2 eps and didnt grab me.

Started Reprisal, which is about a chick whose Gang Leader brother tried to kill her and left her for dead, and she is out for revenge.

Watched 3 eps, is decent, if not a bit slow paced.

Also started latest season of Mr Inbetween, such a fucking great show!!

Just read that a new series of Baptiste starts in a couple of weeks.
If you haven’t seen the previous two and the show it has spun off from (The Missing? ) it’s worth a catch up.
