    Who?

I live here and I've never heard of that team.

Fuck it will be cold up there so I hope he is getting plenty of money. The snowboarding will be good and the seafood is delicious but still totally fuck that.

@gt12 They didn't play in the Top League, but in the Top Challenge League, so basically 2nd division.

No idea where they sit in the new competition format.

I knew a few guys who played in that league in another place I was living and they were not on wages that I would call enjoying the ‘highlife in Japan’ so I hope he’s doing better than them.

And, it was warmer there. Fuck it is cold up in Iwate.

@stargazer It would be interesting to know how many other super rugby teams had offered him a contract..I find it interesting the Canes didn’t offer him a contract kinda curious if they didn’t offer him one or Black who are they targeting for the 3rd 10

@mikey07 my guess is that the Canes were already in contract negotiations with their third first five option hence why they probably didn't offer Black one.

A couple of months is nothing. We are still awaiting the outcome of negotiations for the 7 foot Sth African lock initiated by J. Plumtree about three or four years back.

@machpants Doesn't count as he lasted about two weeks before re-injuring himself and was out for the season. Besides that, don't think he even played.

Liam Mitchell has signed with Zebre in Italy.

He was "sort of" offered a contract for the "fifth spot" at the Canes, but they wanted to wait for the NPC season. He wanted to have some security, however, and he decided not to wait and accepted the offer from Zebre. Quite understandable, I think, being behind Dom Bird, Isaia Walker-Leawere (I assume he's still or again signed with the Canes), Scott Scraften and the big man James Blackwell.

In the "What a Lad" podcast he openly expresses his frustration about lack of game time, although he got a few more minutes by the end of the season, but he has ambition and wants a starting spot somewhere.

@stargazer Unfortunately given Holland’s love child having a lock (pun intended) on one of the two locking spots he was only ever going to be a part time player which is a shame as I quite liked him though not flashy he did the graft.

                                        Liam Mitchell

He's nearly two metres tall, he's got no chance of playing lock for the Canes.

                                        Is he any good?

dude if he's an almost 2m lock in NZ, if he was any good he would have a gig somewhere. We're not exactly swimming in them
