@antipodean So I watched the last episode of S1 and assumed it would wrap up the story, but it's ongoing. Can you let me know if the show actually concludes at end of S2 or if it got cancelled.
I'll be pissed off it ends S2 on a cliffhanger.

Iβm a bit late to the party but Iβve started watching the IT Crowd and itβs really good.

We often patrol cemeteries at night and I have wondered what I would do if I saw a zombie walking out of the darkness. Surely it wouldn't be real and just someone playing a prank, but what if I was wrong? I think I would probably pretend I didn't see it and keep on driving.
The "World War Z" book (significantly different to the movie) by Max Brooks (son of Mel Brooks) noted incidents of zombies that had been utterly disbelieved by authorities and media.
e.g. in a hospital in ?Cuba? something comes back to life from the morgue and a security guard kills it but is then accused of murder despite autopsy showing unusual activity.
That's the kind of situation you're talking about - either you shoot the guy playing a prank or you shoot a zombie. The outcome might just be the same
Actually Bristol City Council in the UK has a contingency plan for dealing with a Zombie attack. It was revealed after a Freedom of Information request a few years ago.

Watching Series 2 of War of the Worlds (the Anglo-French one with Gabriel Byrne)
Enjoyable so far and takes the story forward in a pretty decent way. Quite bleak in places.

@victor-meldrew meant to be out here as well. Will look it up as I enjoyed season 1

Right - so after not particularly enjoying Bosch Season 1 - but not being able to remember WHY...
I gave Bosch Season 2 a go over the weekend (while recovering from food poisoning, so in a pretty good mood to start with)...
- I think I remember why I didn't enjoy it originally - in some ways (certainly not all) - it's maybe too realistic?
- The dialogue in particular - is just shit. But realistic shit... the characters aren't throwing out witty one-liners or zinger comebacks. It's just the same shit back-and-forth you actually hear in the office every day.
- the actual real ringtones/sound-effects used by phones/apps in the show being realisic - making me think that I was actually receiving a call - was fucking annoying
- And action scenes being fairly "realistic" - ie: no over-the-top 'splosions and gun-fights... mostly just understated "yeah, it would probably be fairly lame and short-lived in real life"
- But - once I got to grips with that, and set my expectations... yeah, I kinda enjoyed it. I'm happy to continue with the other seasons now, knowing to dial my expectations in to low-cheese, low-budget, psuedo-film-noir.

I got a plan, although my plan is only for standard zombies, not fast aggro ones.
Over the years my plan has had me transform from Rambo to Zachariah Smith.
Getting old sucks.

Midway through season two of Walking Dead. I can see why this got the audience numbers it did. Only real issue I have so far is the cartoon like accuracy of people firing pistols. Walker 20m away, bam, headshot. Now I'm running and bam, headshot, bam, headshot. Fuck right off.

@antipodean question, how aware are you of the future of the show? happy to talk or are you avoiding anything that might ruin it?

I know nothing of the show and if I knew I wouldn't watch it.
