Naturally there's a study on this, and the answer as I recall is that you need at least 2 men more than women for the seat being left up to mean handling the seat less.

I remember reading something decades ago about how men have muscles to hold it in but women only have muscles to push it out? Or vice versa? Something to that effect.
Anyway, the point is, men can read.
