Also kina is shit, I'm 90% certain half the people who say they like it only say so for cultural reasons.
This may be influenced by spending endless time as a kid waiting for my Dad and uncle when they were diving for them.

On nigiri sushi. But it was so fresh and creamy, tasted like suped up essence of lobster and the sea. The first time I had it was in Sydney and it was very iodine tasting which was fucking horrible
Ah right, I was just referring to it either straight our of the shell or creamed Maori/NZ style.

Depends where the pork chops are from. I've always found British pork way better than anything I've tasted in NZ. A cider-marinated grilled pork chop with a apple & maple syrup relish takes some beating

I must admit I like all shellfish oysters, paua, kina, tuatua, so fuck all of you. Scallops my favourite. Used to eat most of it growing up straight out of a shell at the location (rocks, dive, beach) we got them from.

Aside from Kina I like all other shellfish, even the overrated Oysters.

That is a great description! Love kina but have only tried it in Japan. Sorts the real seafood lovers from the pretenders.

Imagine my disappointment at finally getting around to getting a pot of mussels once I moved over here, out it comes, I open the lid and there's hundreds of the miniscule fuckers, no bigger than the top of my thumb I have to spend ten times longer deshelling, all for a tiny not even bite size portion at a time. Haven't bothered since.

Throw it up the nearest back alley was not an option at the time.
