@pakman not sure in the tight forwards we have ascendancy..

By handle, I didn't mean get on top. But starting five of Joe/Codie/Nepo/Sam/Brodie will hold their own.

If they have PSDT and Thor back we may be under pressure a bit in loose forwards, albeit ours are faster.

Their inside backs are less dangerous than Wallabies.

If we can get some fast ball, I'd expect us to score some fives, whereas they'll be looking for threes, with maybe a maul try thrown in.

Yes could be, and much depends on their 9, I'd say a maul try attempt would be highly likely.

    @toddy injured

Pieter Steph du Toit not included in Springboks' 42-man RC squad

Pieter Steph du Toit not included in Springboks' 42-man RC squad

Injured loose forward Pieter Steph du Toit is the big-name omission from the Springboks Rugby Championship squad.

Rennie reckons the entire rest of the RC will need in Perth, aside from SA v Argentina.
ABs will drip feed in extra numbers, makes sense. No one has opted out of tour yet.

All Blacks to leave players at home as difficult trip looms

So why is TRC being played in Perth, when Oz has a much higher threat of a covid outbreak there right now? (considering they currently have an outbreak in the country) Wouldn't it have made more sense to stage it in NZ?

Answered before, there are no places for the Boks and Arg to come in here in MIQ. They've already got places booked, for months, in Oz. In addition, like last year even if there were places here, the MIQ requirements are much stricter in NZ. In Oz they can train as a team from Day 1.

EDIT: Originaly the idea was they'd both MIQ in OZ, training from Day 1, then they could use the buuble to travel to NZ.

@canefan Perth well WA currently has a 7 day average of zero and they've just implemented special rules for boats attempting to visit.

Wonder who will be left at home? Assume 30 or so will travel to Perth.

Whole thing should be in New Zealand, but perhaps they can sell more tickets in Perth?

We better hope the ABs already left, or there is no way the God King of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Western Australia is letting them in

I wonder. I'm tempted to question whether the SA rugby contingent in Perth is over-estimated, but there could be quite a few ex-Kiwis and FIFOs (not sure what they are called now, Quarantine Ins, Quarantine Outs?) keen to show there are no lockdowns in WA..
