I fully laughed out loud at that. Straight to hell for me.

so, i ran the last 2km of my 5k last night in a little under 8 minutes. And it was running long strides, both feet in the air, going for it.

if i was somehow able to keep that pace up it's good for a 2.48 marathon. Which, on this day, was 40 minutes behind the winner, and 4 minutes behind the last guy to cross the line

elite level distance runners are actually freaks.

Reading this, I just realized that I’m now a jogger.

Once upon a time I reckon I could have done 2kms at that pace, but now I’d just wave you on by and continue on to the donut shop.

We've not been at the Olympics for this for 12 years, USA have silver, bronze, gold in that time period. It's not rugby in any shape or form, they just needed a more PC name than murder ball and football would'nt have gone down well. Oh and these guys are a million times tougher than soccer wimps

Anyone see the doco on Dame Valerie Adams' sister? She has Cerebral Palsy and has become a shotputter late in life under the stewardship of her reasonably talented πŸ™‚ sister.

It's a great watch. Massive family. I didn't realise that were that big

I was reading that the tactic was to just qualify for the final and not expend too much energy trying to win her heat.

@bovidae Maybe the opposition isn't great. She finished 0.04s behind the winner of her heat. All the other swimmers that qualified for the final, were at least 5 seconds slower.
