It makes me laugh that you are suggesting some league dude who hasn't played Union in years, no fucking way.

    Isn't the ginger Jesus injured?

I will bet anyone $100 that Blackwell will start over Dom Bird next year, and he will be much better.

@tim Sotutu was the most disappointing All Black this year, if it wasn't Caleb Clarke.

Sotutu was very good in Trans Ta$man and the back end of Aotearoa.

My problem with him is he has stuggled to translate that form to test level (even last year).

Like a few of those in today’s game…might just need a few games on the trot to translate if game to the international level

Ak has been good before but that was the best 80mins I’ve seen

Bower has obviously been struggling…but seemed much more settled

Jordan showed us someone that’s not all flash, just settled in and played some code

Sotutu is clearly a long time All Black.

It goes with the territory when you're an Auckland legend.

Tim is on some other planet, I don't think level 3/4 applies

@machpants I'm on the planet of being right about every prediction for the last four years. I'm the Fern's oracle, and you mock me at your peril.

I bagged Hansen for years, and was vindicated each and every time.

Who cries for George Bridge or Shannon Frizzel now?

Jordan is one of those guys who does flash things but makes them look easy. A lot of players would have butchered that Beaudy grubber but he executed his part perfectly.

Definitely, I was just meaning he’s not just going around looking for tries, he’s sweep up the backline and making tidy clearing kicks etc, backing up others etc

There’s definitely class in Jordan, bit like Dagg in that regard.

Jordan needs to keep doing the basic stuff and 1 per centers to build on top of those class moments.

It’s interesting, I was a big fan of Ben Smith before he made the ABs because you could see the work ethic and steady play. He wasn’t the most dominant, he wasn’t a superstar name, he wasn’t a big tackle buster or had a big fend, he wasn’t a stepper. He had a good solid boot and very good instincts. Sounds like a journeyman aye….

His pace got better, he put on some muscle, he just continued to develop and his class shone through especially in the AB environment. That guy you could just depend on but brought some amazing highlights too.

Sounds a bit like Corey Jane. Not the most imposing AB to look at. But all understated class. And that fend

Jane had a reputation (from 7s) though and had that flash to him. His fend made him a very good 7s player but there question marks over his XVs play. Took him a few years but once he got that opportunity he just continued to up his game.

We're a bit off topic here but I expect eventualy Jordan will usurp DMac and the Barretts and claim his rightful place as our long-term fullback. I ws hoping - forlornly - when Barrett was sent off that they might bring Bridge on and put Jordan at FB, leaving DMac on the bench as cover for B Barrett. I think when he gets his next chance he'll snatch it up.

Yup, this! Big step up in the weekend for Jordan for me - just did soooo much right and particularly impressive was his teamwork - linking, working hard. Not running away from support and/or turning it over needlessly. Even those two weird kicks he put in came off well because he worked so hard to turn them around.
