@stargazer Qld could be going into lockdown very soon after today's positive case. Not sure what this means for the RC but it could potentially be cancelled/postponed. Europe was always the better option imo.
Yep signs are there Qld going into lockdown by Monday IMO.
Jesus what a mess, I wonder if they can still squeeze it into Europe

10 day quarantine in the UK if I'm not mistaken. Not sure about Ireland and France.

Nope, Australia is on the green list, covid test before and one on day 2, no quarantine required.

@machpants Oh right. Then it's a possibility I suppose.

I'd rather they stay in Perth. Wouldn't it be easier to take the Boks and Argies straight to Perth from QLD quarantine (I assume they're in QLD quarantine currently).
I don't want the games being played overnight.
-
@nepia Perth hosting it is as risky as having it in Queensland. Covid enters the community and the state goes into lockdown.
-
I wonder if Sam will be training with the Canterbury team before heading to oz. Will only be available for the 2nd Boks test.

All Blacks lock Samuel Whitelock is to stay in New Zealand and will miss the rest of the Fortinet Rugby Championship. He will rejoin the All Blacks squad for the Northern Hemisphere Tour. Both Whitelock and Richie Mo’unga were granted exemptions late yesterday to quarantine in Queensland, landing on Tuesday. However, the timing of arrival meant that Whitelock would have exited his two weeks’ hard quarantine with not enough time for a tight forward to safely prepare to play against South Africa on October 2. Mo’unga will travel and be available for that game. New Zealand Rugby understands that quarantine spots in Queensland are limited and are hugely appreciative of the efforts by Queensland Health, Rugby Australia and SANZAAR in assisting with this matter. -

@akan004 translation: backs are soft and don't take the knocks and stresses that forwards do.

Also big opportunity for locks, 9s, and 10s in the squad to step up.
Edit. I misread, I thought neither were coming. Maybe it's Bavaria's the gap between Smith and the other nines is so huge they're desperate to get him back!
-
S Barrett will be going home at some stage for parental duties, hopefully after Whitelock joins the tour party.

Backs still get the best looking women though…

This will test the depth and quality of the AB halfbacks.

@bovidae Ah i didn’t realise it was that far away. I thought he was in a similar boat to Mo’unga and Whitelock. Yeah he can get back, but not before end of Nov. Good for the ABs long term to have to bring more players in, AS won;t be around forever and they have to learn to operate without out him (think 10s at the 2011 RWC).
@Frye fuck Covid really
