Stumbled on this. Rating the top 10 sequel characters. Spoiler alert: Rose, yes Rose is 9. Tells you everything about the disconnect between normal people and the media. And of course how shit the sequels are. Not that I will probably ever watch number 8.

Star Wars: The 10 Best Sequel Trilogy Characters

Star Wars: The 10 Best Sequel Trilogy Characters

The Star Wars sequel trilogy may have been a mixed bag for fans but there's no denying the greatness of some of the characters from those movies.

Now compare that to the OT or even the PT. Well you can't because there simply is no comparison.

    But for shits and giggles.
    OT
    Luke
    Han
    Vader
    Bob
    Obi
    Yoda
    Wedge
    Lando
    Akbar
    Leia
(Honourable mentions of course are Chewbacca, Tarkin, Jabba and the droids).

    PT
    Obi
    Yoda
    Maul
    Mace
    Dooku
    Qui Gon
    Anniken
    Palpatine
    F Fett
    Padme
(But if you include CW then a stack of Jedi and clone troopers can be added).

I’d give Tarkin and Jabba more than an a honourable mentions they were a fantastic baddies ( in completely different ways ).

No love for General Grievious ?

The sequel trilogies list of characters doesn’t compare in the slightest.

Shit knew I forgot someone. He's definitely there.

Even the Rogue One characters shit on the sequels. The 2 leads are rather meh but the rest are pretty damn good, even the Samurai dude I chose to hate before he stole my heart. The droid was awesome as was chief bad guy. Actually they killed off a heap of potential awesomeness in that film.

@rancid-schnitzel true, but i also really respect them actually doing it, trying to show there was actual loss/sacrifice and not trying to spin everything out for longer than needed

It was a good old fashioned suicide mission

Yeah, I just recall my son being a bit gutted. I reckon I would be too if I watched a film as a kid and every single one of the heroes got killed.

and from memory, that didn't leak before it was released, so those of us who went and saw it pretty early in the cinema had a genuine surprise, my movie cynic side was sitting there assuming theyd get out as "heros" always do....and then you start wondering..."but how?"...and then...oh

One thing I do like about Mark Hamill is he seems to have a great sense of humour

The final abomination. Lasted 10 minutes. What utter dross. The Emperor survives and has a massive armada hidden under water. Light speed skipping? Nah fuck that.

Yeah, they tried to “fix” the stuff from the second and fucked it royally, very much dislike what they did in tLJ but RoS real bad for lots of other reasons

anyone watched "Star Wars - Visions" ?

Small 15min episodes where different animators seem to get to do whatever they like, dont think anything is canon but the first one was very cool

First one is my favourite as you could see it being canon. SW is either Samurai or Western or both. Loved the animation style as well.

The one with the band was pants.

@crucial agreed, the second one was random, guy seems to be a jedi escaping...but is never mentioned again

third one was fun but too "big" to be canon i think

Interesting article and certainly some stuff that would have been far better than we got

The Full Original Star Wars 9 Script Has Supposedly Leaked. And It Gives Fans the Ending They Deserved.

Colin Trevorrow's 'Duel of Fates' is dark. It's metal. And unlike 'Rise of Skywalker,' it makes some really bold choices.

The proposed scene of Chewie commandeering an X-Wing and kicking ass would have been awesome.

He wouldn’t fit in the cockpit

@mn5 don’t spoil it! Maybe it’s an upgrade to the T-65. Gotta be species inclusive these days. Humanoids only is not sustainable.

True. Chewie was very tall but not that bulky.
