My guess is the series will be the start of the exile, an adventure or two (even off planet) then will end with the realisation that Vader is still alive, perhaps another confrontation (to explain the "Obi Wan once thought as you did line"), then a broken Obi Wan wanders out to the sunset to live out his days on Tattoine a shell of his former self.
100%
i can imagine a whole episode with no dialogue, one big montage of a broken man trying to learn this new life in exile, showing how hard life is, maybe afraid to use the force incase someone senses it, also explaining how much he aged
@MN5 can you remember where you might have heard that, never leaving tattoine?
Ha, coulda been one of those fan theories but it does fit don’t you think ? When we met him in ANH he didn’t even have a speeder bike or other vehicle much less a spaceship so I don’t see him doing much travel. He needed a ride with Luke to Mos Easley !
I agree about him being afraid to use the force too, even those scumbags on tattooine might rat him out to the Empire if they saw him doing Jedi shit. Even given how crap Storm Troopers had become by the original trilogy enough of them storming his hut would be able to wipe him out.
He didn't seem to have a problem whipping out his light saber in Ep4. But maybe non Jedi used them at that stage? It is a farking cool weapon.
But it was only in the cantina when they were leaving. And as soon as he used it that gonzo looking spy informed the imperials
Was it cos he used the lightsaber or because he’d spotted the droids though ?
Who knows. I'd say cutting that dude's arm off and deflecting those blaster shots created some buzz

He probably thought “fuck it I’m leaving, time to dice up these two fools, who cares if anyone sees me”
Then again, those two survived according to canon.

@mn5 do they? i thought the canon was the other way around, we see them in rogue one and that is before tattoine
Yeah we do, they obviously jump straight on a ship and head off and escape the destruction on Jedda.
I found their cameo in that particularly unnecessary and gratuitious though.

@mn5 but what canon has them after tatooine?

Stumbled on this. Rating the top 10 sequel characters. Spoiler alert: Rose, yes Rose is 9. Tells you everything about the disconnect between normal people and the media. And of course how shit the sequels are. Not that I will probably ever watch number 8.
Now compare that to the OT or even the PT. Well you can't because there simply is no comparison.
But for shits and giggles.
OT
Luke
Han
Vader
Bob
Obi
Yoda
Wedge
Lando
Akbar
Leia
(Honourable mentions of course are Chewbacca, Tarkin, Jabba and the droids).PT
Obi
Yoda
Maul
Mace
Dooku
Qui Gon
Anniken
Palpatine
F Fett
Padme
(But if you include CW then a stack of Jedi and clone troopers can be added). -
wedge is cool...but over chewie? hes on screen for about 12 sec
i never got the hate for rose and definately all the abuse the actress got. didnt feel she was a big enough character to worry about and we did get to see her zap finn...which i enjoyed because he was a much bigger character...but just ended up spending three movies sulking

I've always had a boner for Wedge. He saved Luke's life in ANH and played a vital role in destroying the 2nd Death Star.
Rose was just one of many really crap and criminally underdeveloped characters in the sequels. As for the abuse (which is of course disgusting and pathetic) you have to take that with a grain of salt. Social media and the mainstream media amplify these things much more these days but it's always occurred. George Lucas copped massive amounts of online abuse for the PT. They even wrote a song called "George Lucas raped my childhood". Websites were created when Daniel Craig was announced as Bond. They mocked his looks, his height and everything else. Same with Ben Affleck when announced as Batman. Imagine the online furore if Michael Keaton was cast as Batman today! Ultimately what the Rose actor faced was unfortunately just par for the course. At the end of the day she got a huge role and will probably be getting residuals until the end of time so who gives a shit what a bunch of basement dwellers on the internet think. It's always astounded me why these people are given oxygen.

No love for General Grievious ?
The sequel trilogies list of characters doesn’t compare in the slightest.

Shit knew I forgot someone. He's definitely there.
Even the Rogue One characters shit on the sequels. The 2 leads are rather meh but the rest are pretty damn good, even the Samurai dude I chose to hate before he stole my heart. The droid was awesome as was chief bad guy. Actually they killed off a heap of potential awesomeness in that film.

@rancid-schnitzel true, but i also really respect them actually doing it, trying to show there was actual loss/sacrifice and not trying to spin everything out for longer than needed

It was a good old fashioned suicide mission

Yeah, I just recall my son being a bit gutted. I reckon I would be too if I watched a film as a kid and every single one of the heroes got killed.

and from memory, that didn't leak before it was released, so those of us who went and saw it pretty early in the cinema had a genuine surprise, my movie cynic side was sitting there assuming theyd get out as "heros" always do....and then you start wondering..."but how?"...and then...oh

The final abomination. Lasted 10 minutes. What utter dross. The Emperor survives and has a massive armada hidden under water. Light speed skipping? Nah fuck that.

Yeah, they tried to “fix” the stuff from the second and fucked it royally, very much dislike what they did in tLJ but RoS real bad for lots of other reasons
