    Ted Lasso

    Wow, what a fall fall from S1 to S2.

    10 episodes into S2, and it's been 2 great, 6 average, and 2 appalling (courtesy of Apple demanding 2 extra episodes be slotted in after the fact, it's crazy how easy they are to identify)

    Really lost its way.

    I didn't get this at all. Before reading this I've heard other people complaining about it but aside from one storyline which I'll discuss in a spoiler below I've really enjoyed this season.

    I actually really like the two added ones too, they gave me a kind of Atlanta and Master of None vibe and I like those two shows.

    Ah well, I'm happy at least. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    :::

    The whole Nate being a complete asshole was just weird. I have no problem with how they made him to big for his boots, but the off screen abuse/threatening of the new changing room guy at the end of the episode just didn't work as a characterisation.

    :::

    I'm with you

    Loved it

    @nepia @MiketheSnow

    I can't seem to use spoilers, trying again

    I thought the Beard Ep was about the worst piece of TV I have ever seen. So boring, so out of place. Xmas Ep right behind it. Just terrible.

    Agree re Nate

    @victor-meldrew yeah we found ourselves going "oh shit what happened last season again?" for the first ten minutes.

    S9 of Endeavour has ended. Good watch.

    :::

    The last episode was weird and way over the top, but funnily enough, I really enjoyed it, bit like The Shining meets Midsomer Murders The sub plots with Thursday's son & Morse's alcoholism were brilliantly done with some really impressive acting.

    Weโ€™ll have to agree to disagree - also clearly youโ€™ve never watched reality tv if thatโ€™s your baseline for worst. ๐Ÿ˜

    @nepia What's this 'reality TV' of which you speak? Surely the whole point of TV is to divorce from reality? Ah now I get it. Although TBH I have never watched any of the genre.

    I get both sides of the argument re Ted Lasso. I still really look forward to it but think Season 1 was better when it focused more on the team dynamics and less of interpersonal stuff outside the dugout.

    Probably a good decision to quit after Season 3.

    I am similarly conflicted by Foundation. I was really really looking forward to this, but I don't know how much it's going to appeal to a broader audience. It does look fantastic but it's very slow, even though a lot happened. Maybe I should have revisited the books beforehand. It is koffkoff since I read them (well before anything but the original trilogy had been written)

    @dogmeat I was intending to watch the first ep of Foundation last night but forgot about it.

    Instead I watched a couple of eps of Yellowstone which gets a bit of hype on here but must admit I'm a bit iffy on it.

    Yellowstone does take a little while to develop the characters and to understand the family and political dynamics.

    I am working my way through the Marvel shows on Netflix, which I never watched at the time. I probably should have watched them in order but it hasn't worked out that way.

    Thought they were all on Disney?

    They will all eventually end up there once Netflix's contract ends. I am referring to Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders.

    I see. Thought you meant other MCU shows.

    How are you finding them. JJ was the best IMO alongside season 1 of DD. LC dragged the story out too long but was OK. IF the weakest although the beginnings were OK when you thought the character was meant to be an annoying dick.

    @bovidae I enjoyed JJ and DD, never watched Luke Cage and I think I watched the Defenders, which made me decide I wouldnt like Iron Fist.

    Yeah, I think going in I thought it was a drama about ranchers, not a a slightly racist drama about mobsters who just happen to be ranchers.

    Plus I can't stand that redhead chick.

    I am finishing up Jessica Jones now but enjoyed Daredevil more across the 3 seasons. I actually watched Iron Fist first (Jessica Henwick piqued my interest ๐Ÿ™‚ ), hence my comment about not watching them in order to understand some references to previous time periods. That and Luke Cage are definitely a step down. The Defenders will be last.

    I've watched JJ S1, DD S1, and Luke Cage and was hugely disappointed considering the hype. JJ was easily the best, DD the most overrated and Cage was kind of just ok. I haven't felt the need to watch anymore.

    Hmm, my posts today make me seem like a negative nelly, but I've been watching lots of good shows lately.

    I'm just getting bored of it as it appears they wrote a season and then got extended, so now they're delving further into the characters to fill it out.
