Didn't like Succession much when I tried it in the 1st season, however, am really enjoying 3rd season.

Found Alan Partridge in Mid Morning Matters to be the funniest thing he has done.

watching succession again now into season 2 as I was told it improved, man that's one f*ked up family..not fast paced, but enough to keep me interested and enjoying it

    Counterpart

    IMDB

Into ep. 4 of the first series. Might just be the best thing I've watched for years.

Great show, but just as an FYI, the show got cancelled after S2.

Finished S2 last nite. Good decision not to do a 3rd season as it would likely have dragged.

Really enjoyed it - best thing I've watched for ages.

    @bovidae

One of NZ's most unknown (but quite high earning) horsemen featured in the first episode when they had the cutters and cowhorse shots. His name is Clint Allen, he's a professional trainer (originally from Hastings who came up to the Waikato, then worked at Ra Ora and was Sackford's main handler before becoming a professional trainer).

He is a very close family friend so my parents loved it.

Edit: he just posted some pics

He can really ride too, this was in a charity event a few years ago. To the best of my knowledge, he was the first to ever do this:

@gt12 I'll be honest, even though I can appreciate their talents, I find the rodeo and ranch scenes the least interesting parts in the series. Taylor Sheridan (the writer) seems to be very good at it too.

    Taylor Sheridan

He's heavily involved in Cutting and Cowhorse and is part of a group who recently purchased the iconic 6666 ranch, and apparently that will be the focus of a new series. My parents are the opposite, they loved it for the cowboy bits, but now that it is going very SOA style, they are losing interest.

Trying really hard to get into Goliath S4.

S1 and S2 were excellent. S3 decided to go all weird in a True Detective 2 way now S4 continues in that vein.

Real pity as I think that the characters as per the first two series were great. I get that the producers didn't want to keep repeating themselves but this is a struggle watch.

Maid: Not the usual type of Fern show we discuss, but this was one of the best shows I've watched this year.

It's about a woman who escapes an abusive relationship with her child and gets a job as a lowly paid and poorly treated maid. It's not even an enjoyable watch for most of it's 10 episodes but it has some of the best, most natural performances I've ever seen.

Margaret Qually (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) plays the woman and I think it's one of the best performances I've ever seen. I fully believed she was the character and couldn't see the acting strings being pulled. Her Mum is played by Andie MacDowell (who is her real life Mum), she's one of those free spirit artists with mental health issues which is a role that could fall into cliche, but it doesn't. Most of the other actors are good too, including the partner who once I read his IMDB page I realised I'd watched him in stuff previously but had no idea it was him.

Worth a watch if you want to see something different from the usual fare.

As I said, not the usual type of Fern show, so a big fat zero (IIRC). No sexy maid outfit either. Sorry. 🙂

@nepia I hope your missus made you watch it...haha seriously though, I didn't watch, but Mrs TR watched it and the bits I saw seemed a good story and acting did look good, but you are right, not really TSF targeted audience

Probably the first time I’ve read a positive review on here and thought… nah!
