@nepia Love and Monsters was fun. Did you notice the Kiwi accents?

Yep, so I thought it might be filmed in NZ, but it was filmed here in Oz in Qld.

    No time to die

Was good, wasn’t expecting it to be quite so much of a sequel to Spectre

I thought they handled the idea of someone else being 007 well, because they leaned in an made it part of the story, and she played the brash arrogant spy well

MOD EDIT - Removed the Spoiler ...

I think the next one will be a complete reboot, new M, moneypenny and Q etc

Once again though….I feel the scene from this one will blend into all his other films with the exception of casino Royal in general and the scene at his house from skyfall, his have all been very samey, and I get the idea of a certain style…but think they’ve gone too far

I was the opposite & thought she was an incredibly weak, stereotyped character with an appallingly written part. The cynic in me asks if she was a last-minute addition to catch the BLM zeitgeist.

I think the next one will be a complete reboot, new M, moneypenny and Q etc

I hope they don't get rid of all three as Naomie Harris' Moneypenny is great and one of the best characters of the Craig era. Ben Wilshaw's Q is starting to grate though.

They need to kill off the maudlin endings as well. The last scene was bloody cringeworthy.

MOD - Coupe of slight edits for spoiler ...

Too each there own, seemed too intertwined in the story to be a last minute addition to me, unless changed from another character

As I say I thought she gave off the same kind off arrogant attitude we got from Craig’s bond previously before this one where he’s found the one true love of his life…for the second time

Take your point but I just thought her superfluous and she stood out like a sore thumb.

It would have been good if she had, but I didn't think she did. There's one scene (i can't describe it at it's a spoiler) which made me really, really cringe. The writing was really bad.

@victor-meldrew always fascinating how people can see the same thing so differently, as I say I got very similar vibes to when we first met craig, reasonably new agent, 00 status was important to them, quite happy to walk head first into any situation

Will concede it was a bit cringy when she gave him back the 007…they’d spent the whole dim showing he didn’t care anymore

I had more trouble with remi maleks bad guy….not really sure why he wanted to kill half the planet, started well with the throw back to the story she told in spectre…but then I kind of lost his motivation

Also, wasn’t the big bad guys base from skyfall on an abandoned island of the coast of Japan?

I don't think that's true at all. They had already swapped out two traditionally white characters for black actors well before the most recent BLM "zeitgeist".

@nepia it would also have been pretty tame attempt to make a BLM statement, she doesn’t talk about being black, no monologue about challenges faced etc…she just happens to be black

Started watching this - if the first 6 minutes are anything to go by, it's fucking rad.

Yeah, but those roles were well-written, well-acted and very much part of the franchise. This one was completely the opposite and stuck out like a sore thumb - which put my cynicism counter to level 11.

She could even have been Asian....

On that note (and being a bit more serious) I'm nominating Sanjeev Baskar as the new Q. He'd be a bit like John Cleese, who I though was bloody brilliant.

i could see that, could work well

thats exactly it, she could have, her race had little effect...on anything...so hardly much of a statement about BLM....more just a character you didn't think was well done
