Par is ~280 I reckon. NZ will need to bowl well and take early wickets.

Yeah - that early runout of Bates kept the handbrake slightly on for a fair bit of our innings. We seemed to play most of it one wicket down more than I liked.

We need to do the same to them!

We are def 20 runs shy of where we could be but 5 an over can quickly put pressure on through a number of ways and I don't think the pitch really matters much.

    Great start.

We've kept them pinned down and picked up a wicket.

We must be about 30 runs ahead at the same point.

....and thats how you quickly turn your 260 into a 300 equivalent. The wickets are a bonus.

Excellent pressure bowling from both ends, squeezing them really well, keep it going & they'll have to take more chances, increasing our chances of taking some more wickets.

Satterthwaite and Kerr rolled along at 6 an over for 11 overs - so we've got a great chance to get a stranglehold in the next 7 or 8 overs.

Rain affected match and the Bangladeshis have started on fire. Our bowlers looking like cannon-fodder so far!

Our bowling looks nowhere near good enough to challenge the pointy end of the tournament.

Tahuhu in particular has been poor. Going at around 7 runs per over against WI and Bangles is not going to cut it against Aus and Eng.

Wow, has Tahuhu pulled her form around!

    2-7 off 6 overs

    Too soon!

They need 7s for 30 overs. It's a big big ask

It looked like it could be a poor tournament for the White Ferns after the loss to the West Indies. But so far India and England haven't got off the plane yet, so it's all on...

A couple of big overs, but India's total lack of intent for the first 40 overs has come back to bite them...

Kiwi girls were doing pretty well against OZ until Gardner arrived. She's currently 32 off 12. A crazy strike rate in this competition. OZ currently 253-7 in the 49th.

Wellington just got run out at the Basin Reserve. Though that leaves Gardner on strike who is killing it - 40 off 16 now.

Gardner dropped (it was a sitter) on 40 and runs two while it's in the air. She then hits a six off the final ball ending up with 48 off 18. What a beast.

OZ finished up with 269 for 8.

We probably ended up chasing a respectable score considering the class above that Oz side is. Made them battle early which kept the score in check enough that we aren’t chasing over 300.
That was some scoring rate from Gardener
