Watched second season of Raised by Wolves.

They will need to get renewed (big if) for a third if they are to find out more about what is happening on the planet.

The new characters made the second season more interesting in terms of everyones different angles and character arcs without revealing any plot.

Still I feel only the heavily invested will only take this further, as still a slow burn, but twisted enough for me to want to find out more. Im guessing most will quit probably half way through the season if they decide to start the second season at all.

    2.5 out of 5

Van der Walk has been a good watch. Two series available of three 1.5 hour episodes each. Gripping crime drama set in Amsterdam, originally made in the 70’s or 80’s

I quite liked the original series back along but the new one is pretty good too. A bit more down to earth.

Finished Manhunt: Deadly Games - really fucken good, brilliantly cast and acted. What a rollercoaster.

Pieces of Her looks bloody good after one episode.

Just finished season 4 of The Last Kingdom - had no idea they were going beyond s3 tbh

It's a good watch. Kind of like Vikings-lite and I started it years ago because of the Bernard Cornwell books.

Season 5 dropping next week I'm told by Google

Been watching Season 5 and am 6 episodes in. Not bad and the fighting scenes remain pretty good. A few quibbles though. The CGI for the wider shots is laughable in some cases and the dialogue is often quite clunky. It seems to me that the further they stray from the source material the poorer the storyline becomes and they add unnecessary dialogue to explain what is going on. Disappointing but I will persevere.

Agree with all the above. I enjoyed it for the most part, being a sucker for historical fiction in all its forms, but a few things bugged me.

The continued reliance on "I'm going to be a compulsive dickhead no I'm not yes I am" from Edward wore a bit thin.
Everyone looking on horrified like it was 2020 instead of 920 while troops were sent into battle to die.
Some of the dialogue was stilted, to be kind.
The last complaint: people didn't age. Aelswith looked the same age the entire way through, and only in the last few episodes did they have a crack at giving her a few gray hairs.

It's a difficult genre to do really well on a budget and producers must be constantly torn between historical realism and having an audience identify with settings/characters.
It's like how they all have perfect teeth and gym bodies.

I am always amazed by the different travel speeds necessary to keep the plot moving. Some characters can seemingly teleport while others take weeks to travel a shorter route.

Yeah a lack of attention to detail and maybe cutting corners in comparison to earlier seasons. A bit too happy ever after ending too.

@bones I watched that, not bad, has a bit of a lull in the middle, but overall worth the watch.

    Pieces of Her

Started pretty compelling and then really lost it’s way and had an underwhelming finale. ( I caught the end after missing a couple of episodes )

It’s also pretty hard to take seriously a bunch of actors who I know to be very Australian trying to be Americans. Not to mention it didn’t help when the younger selves in flashbacks looked and sounded NOTHING like their older selves.

    Quite crap. Would not recommend.

@mikethesnow yeah I might go with that rather than the guy who missed episodes before the end and found the end lacking.

You barely speak English. That was meant for Mike. I tagged you as a courtesy.

    Wasted.
