Purple are defined by âSmoke on the Waterâ, itâs the song people think when they think of them.
Thatâs life.
As is often the case they have ( in my opinion ) an absolute truckload of songs that are heaps better. The entire âDeep Purple in Rockâ album as one example ( apart from âinto the fireâ perhaps )

There were a lot of songs that were overplayed on the radio back then & these days too... reckon you appreciate a song like this more when you haven't listened to it for a fair while.

I agree with you about SOTW (like Stairway to Heaven for Led Zep) but it's not even the best track on Machine Head.
Indeed. Fairly sure Iâve brought this up on here before. Both âsignature songsâ are totally overplayed.

Good old fishbone. Theyâll be thrilled to be in such company. The bassist from them gives online bass lessons on Facebook now.
Dream on is about Aerosmithâs only good song, Big Gun is a bit of a banger from AC/DC and Alice in Chains, Megadeth and Cypress Hill always deliver

Don't listen to that much music on the radio these days... prefer to choose my own selections.
