@macmanus Blimey, just two players from University. What's going on down there that things have dropped away that drastically from the days when the students dominated the rep squads?

@macmanus Interesting. Al Momoisea (a Napier Boys' old boy) was still playing for Napier Pirates earlier in the club season. He must have moved to Otago in May. He played for the Hawke's Bay U19 team at the Jock Hobbs Memorial U19 tournament in 2017, so I assume he's been in our academy.

@Higgins Sean Withy, Ricky Jackson, Josh Timu also Josh Hill (all SP Players and Otago) are from Varsity. Pepe, Asi, Stodart, McClea and Aaron Withy have a great potential. Henry Bell and Harry Press left University.

@macmanus I was referring to the High Performance Training Squad you posted when mentioning the two University players.

...and i think he's saying the top uni players are already above this level and still with the super squad, so the actual otago squad will still have loads of uni players

Pretty sure that high performance team didn't include any Highlanders U20 players either. There were five Uni players in there, plus one with the Canes. Uni is likely to provide Ricky Jackson, Josh Dickson, Josh Hill, Sean Withy, Josh Timu, Thomas Umaga-Jensen and potentially Will Stodart and Jeremiah Asi. Not living down there I'm not 100% sure on players.

@Tim played at 12 for Highlanders U20s. Grew into his game quite well over the tournament. I expect they will pick him in the provincial squad. The reports I've read say he has been playing with a bit of time and running his cutters well for the mighty Dunedin Sharks.

No reason given, but it was North Otago that cancelled.
