    Pretty sure that high performance team didn't include any Highlanders U20 players either. There were five Uni players in there, plus one with the Canes. Uni is likely to provide Ricky Jackson, Josh Dickson, Josh Hill, Sean Withy, Josh Timu, Thomas Umaga-Jensen and potentially Will Stodart and Jeremiah Asi. Not living down there I'm not 100% sure on players.

    @Tim played at 12 for Highlanders U20s. Grew into his game quite well over the tournament. I expect they will pick him in the provincial squad. The reports I've read say he has been playing with a bit of time and running his cutters well for the mighty Dunedin Sharks.

    @macmanus oh, any idea why?

    No reason given, but it was North Otago that cancelled.

    I'm 100% sure he is back with Ta$man this year. I won't believe he is signed and sealed with the 'Landers until there is a tile on the franchise's social media and a PR>

    Here is an interesting quote from an article last year.

    "Otago Rugby Football Union player development manager Paul Galland said the union had met Hotham last year but had decided against offering him a player contract.

    Galland said the union already had some locally produced halfbacks they wanted to back so decided against signing Hotham."

    Three teams calling on highly rated halfback

    Three teams calling on highly rated halfback

    Promising halfback Noah Hotham will play for the Highlanders under-20 squad, will play for Alhambra-Union, and will then turn out in Tasman colours...

    As for Freedom, he hasn't been sighted with Dunedin pretty much at all this season. It looks like his time in the south has come to an end.

    and you would have thought if not with the Highlander he would be with the high performance squad

    I don't think this is a straight rugby decision. As in, I don't think he is playing rugby at the moment.
