Well as most from the Nua where Cullen was from knew his roots that would surprise me if Grace doesn't know his.

@taniwharugby I was more thinking of the possibility that Hall made himself unavailable because he wants a good break before heading to Japan (he won't be playing NPC, will he?). They have a really long preseason.

No idea mate, but wuld gues as it just 3rd 9 they looking for maybe felt it better to have someone who will be here next year etc. Not saying I know anymoe than anyone else and all guesswork of course.

I'm no longer confused about Grace. From the article it appears he always knew he was Maori, but didn't really know his whakapapa or interact with Te Ao Maori much, probably in part due to growing up in Timaru. Tamati Ellision encouraged him to make himself available.
I like that the Maori team can introduce players to Te Ao Maori if they didn't grow up in the culture.

Two weeks in-between games for the MABs. Would have been a great opportunity to organsise a game for tomorrow, against a NZ Barbarians team. That way, they could have given players who are knocking on the ABs (XV) door, but aren't Māori, a game, too.

@Stargazer in such a scenario I feel like the obvious barbarians halfback would've been Maori eligible too in Cortez Ratima
