Question for you Kiwis. Who, if any of the Irish would ye take in an AB team?

I'm nervous about this first test... I just hope it's a close game and we don't get pumped.

@Ludraman I'd take James Lowe over Big Leicester - but, not over Sevu Reece or Will Jordan.

    All my Mako boys!!! 🙂

If it's wet and tight (ooh err missus) I'd take sexcockwomble over Beaudy, but I think the weather is ok.

I'd take one of their loosies over Barrett, anyone of them. I'd be tempted with Bierne instead of BBBR, unless Brodie really steps it back to the good old days

O'Aki over Ennor, Healy instead of Angus, Murray not Christie

South some of those above, is coming upto half the 23

Interesting to hear your opinions. I think as an Irishman I'd say we only have the edge in the starting props (reserve front row is a big step down), Josh Van Der Flier and Henshaw. I'd give it to the All Blacks in every other position.

Gotta say I love test day, makes doing my chores and other things easier knowing I have a game to look forward to tonight. I hope you all enjoy your Saturday and get your jobs done so you can enjoy the rugby guilt free. 😉

Blue sky, warm weather, sun out - an advertiseent for afternoon rugby.

Looking forward to this. Hopefully we're all wrong, Retallick and Whitelock step back up physically, ScoBa is awesome at 6, the backs unlock the rush defence and we dont get compromised in the linout. Fingers crossed!

An interesting interview with O'Gara re tonight's test. He claims SH team follow the man on D whereas Ireland and the North follow the ball. He believes with enough bodies in motion NZ defensive players get confused and allow space and opportunity.

He also made reference that the NZ backline has not got a lot of minutes together and if Ireland take away time and space it should be interesting.

He also talked about players needing minutes in the position they play in test matches, he said you shouldn't be playing a different position for your club and expecting to have the skills for that position come test time.

@chimoaus sounds like he is talking a lot of sense about positions, combinations etc. We should have learned this by now

This conversation is driving me fucking nuts.

We're playing a lock at 6 to hopefully make up for the fact that we are playing an impact 7 at 8.

At what point are the selectors going to man up and make a choice that it would be better for AB rugby to lose Ardie Savea, so that we could get some fucking balance?

Fuck him if he leaves because he has to play off the bench. We'd be better off.

So if Ardie is a 7 playing at 8, why is he picked in world VXs at 8, why does he look to be the first player named in any super team while playing at 8? He is a pretty capable 8, and because he can also play 7 doesn't stop him being a bloody good 8. Who has said he will bugger off if he is on bench, that is just making shit up and seemingly trying to make Ardie look like an arsehole.

People pick World XVs based in highlight reels. Just watch him play and how he never shifts bodies at rucks. Always leans or one out. Isn't tall enough to be a good option for lineputs.

Those are considerable gaps to be overcome in a loose forward trio.

                  Or based on sympathy.

Sergio Parisse got picked in lots of them despite over 100 test losses.

have to think that is aimed specifically at the SB move, and given he worked with SB when he was at the 'saders, quite a telling comment?

But hey hope SB proves all the doubters wrong!

he said you shouldn't be playing a different position for your club and expecting to have the skills for that position come test time.

have to think that is aimed specifically at the SB move, and given he worked with SB when he was at the 'saders, quite a telling comment?

But hey hope SB proves all the doubters wrong!

I think he was referencing the Irish 10 in the Maori game who plays 12 for his club. But his comments are valid for SB also.

At the ground heading into the lounge.

Glorious, feels like early autumn. Cool but dry
