HYena Road - set in Afghanistan and follows some Canadian troops as they set about trying to find some head nasty guy whilst also trying to align themselves with some legendary Mujahideen figure form the war with the Russians.

Was a decent watch, 6.5 Afghans out of 10.

Late to the party on this one. Watched the Big Short last night. Great movie and Christian Bale, Steve Carrell and the rest of the cast were brilliant

9 "burn the banks down" out of 10

Watch De Palma's Carrie the other night. Oh man, that is an older movie that really holds up. Great film.

Al Pacino reached this point a few years ago. Hard to believe the dude who was Michael Corleone and Tony Montana and Lt Col Frank Slade could also star in Jack and Jill.

Trophy Kids

A documentary on Netflix. If you have kids who love sport you should probably watch it. Its about parents that really shouldn't be.

The Losers

Movie based on a comic book about some black ops guys being lined up for the chop by Jason Patric after they grow a conscience in the middle of the Bolivian jungle.

The guy who played The Comedian in Watchmen is the lead, Captain America guy is in it, along with Idris Elba playing a yank hard nut, and Zoe Saldana gives partial boobage and a fair bit of tail.

Watchable, glad it was on Netflix for free. Some of the comedic stuff was alright, particularly the "telekinesis" in the lift lobby of the huge corporation.

2.5 Jason Patrics out of 5

Only the dead - a war doco with Aussie Michael Ware. Pretty graphic film about him in Iraq in 2003 and his involvement with al Zarquawi. Ware narrating and starring with real footage as well, shows you a bit more than you get on the 6pm news for 80mins, not a film you can say you enjoy (due to content and graphic nature) but certainly keeps your attention.

What strange world you must live in where you don't know Chris Evans' name but you do know "Jason Patric"'s.

I was a big Lost Boys fan in Uni when Vampires were last in their "cool" phase. The name kind of stuck because who the fuck spells Patrick without a k on the end?

Chris Evans? Must be a fucking ton of blokes called that.

It was cool and scary and was filmed in Santa Cruz its awesome as the amusements are still there on the beach. Apparently every summer they do a free beach screening of it.

Back in those days the WWE (then WWF?) even had a vampire wrestler, Gangrel (cue thunderclap).

Edit: actually there were a bunch of them, including Gangrel's team "The Brood".

Movie binge last night.

Fury: Really good WW2 'based on true events' flick. Brad Pitt was excellent. Good filmmaking all round. 8 mow down the Nazi SS troops out of 10.

Spotlight: Another based on real events movie, all star cast show how the Boston Globe newspaper brought to light the depth of abuse within the Catholic Church. Very well done. 7 fuck the cover ups out of 10.

Aloha: Cameron Crowe made Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous. Since then it has been pretty much all shit, and this was about the worst. What the fuck did I just see? Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, John Krasincki, Alec Baldwin not even able to rescue the most jumbled, random, disconnected plot ever. (The movie got panned for the whiteness of the cast, but damn, that is just one of the issues.) Imagine if you will, a mash up of Hawaiian myths and legends, US Air Force, old boyfriend/girlfriend, drunken disco dancing, IT billionaires and satellites, killer Pakistani mercenaries, who is your real father reveals, and colonialism issues/negotiations. In a Rom Com. 1 WTAF out of 10.
