Only the dead - a war doco with Aussie Michael Ware. Pretty graphic film about him in Iraq in 2003 and his involvement with al Zarquawi. Ware narrating and starring with real footage as well, shows you a bit more than you get on the 6pm news for 80mins, not a film you can say you enjoy (due to content and graphic nature) but certainly keeps your attention.

What strange world you must live in where you don't know Chris Evans' name but you do know "Jason Patric"'s.

I was a big Lost Boys fan in Uni when Vampires were last in their "cool" phase. The name kind of stuck because who the fuck spells Patrick without a k on the end?

Chris Evans? Must be a fucking ton of blokes called that.

It was cool and scary and was filmed in Santa Cruz its awesome as the amusements are still there on the beach. Apparently every summer they do a free beach screening of it.

Back in those days the WWE (then WWF?) even had a vampire wrestler, Gangrel (cue thunderclap).

Edit: actually there were a bunch of them, including Gangrel's team "The Brood".

Movie binge last night.

Fury: Really good WW2 'based on true events' flick. Brad Pitt was excellent. Good filmmaking all round. 8 mow down the Nazi SS troops out of 10.

Spotlight: Another based on real events movie, all star cast show how the Boston Globe newspaper brought to light the depth of abuse within the Catholic Church. Very well done. 7 fuck the cover ups out of 10.

Aloha: Cameron Crowe made Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous. Since then it has been pretty much all shit, and this was about the worst. What the fuck did I just see? Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, John Krasincki, Alec Baldwin not even able to rescue the most jumbled, random, disconnected plot ever. (The movie got panned for the whiteness of the cast, but damn, that is just one of the issues.) Imagine if you will, a mash up of Hawaiian myths and legends, US Air Force, old boyfriend/girlfriend, drunken disco dancing, IT billionaires and satellites, killer Pakistani mercenaries, who is your real father reveals, and colonialism issues/negotiations. In a Rom Com. 1 WTAF out of 10.

Watched The Revenant on the plane. After the hype, the awards, and then the mixed reviews on here, i wasn't sure what to expect.

I fucking loved it. What a beautiful movie. Yes, it's a revenge movie, but really it's a survival movie, about how much mother nature can fuck us up. The visuals, and especially the sound, were just incredible (planes allowing you to use your own headphones has definitely improved this area). That bear attack looked really, really fucking cool.

Everybody Wants Some!! The spiritual sequel to Dazed and Confused by Richard Linklater. I thought this was great, funny and rambling. About a bunch of college baseball players partying over the weekend before college classes start.

Lots of pretty girls, only one set of boobies though M4L/Jegga, scattered throughout the movie and the guy character's were mostly funny.

Set in the early 80s, so still looks really 70s.

8.5 bongs and funnels out of 10.

Yes, I give the rating system a solid 4 fat yellow props going backwards but only because the ref is shit and has no clue what is going on because the yellow props are actually better but the opposition have some sort of iconic myth behind them out of 5.

I give your comment 4 All Black fans who never admit the opposition were better than them, only that their own team played shit, out of 5.

A couple of Liam Neeson films.

A Walk Among Tombstones.

Pretty dark movie and not quite what I expected, especially the part at the beginning when he is shooting up the bad guys and one of the bullets go astray. Enjoyable enough though. 3 gun toting alcoholics out of 5.

Taken 3.

Pretty much as expected, Liam Neeson fucking bad guys up for fun. Slight plot twist at the end but don't go into the movie with any expectations other then Neeson being a bad ass. 3 special sets of skills out of 5.

The Witch

English immigrants live in America in the 1600s and speak a pretty bizarre dialect ( which was pretty common at the time ). They have a pretty miserable life eking out a meagre existence with their five kids so something comes out of the woods to liven things up by stealing their baby. Cue a few accusations, a few lame frights, bumps in the night and a build up to pretty much nothing... Actors who played Mum and Dad were deceased characters in a show many of us enjoy watching but avoid this turgid crap at all costs.....

2 former GOT actors out of 10
