Saint-Malo, Brittany, has the highest tides in Europe, with water that can rise over 13 m. These houses (here seen during storm Ciara), are built as a sea wall and 4 layer glass on the front windows

@Victor-Meldrew My last (and most fune ever) job in the UK was Area Manager for an industrial temp agency.
Wonderful source of fuck up stories - 25 mile tailbacks on M25 from blocking Dartford Tunnel, total recall of Dumbo video coz someone spliced in Mickey takes it up the arse etc
But in terms of warehouse I got a call one day to say a temp of pours had reversed a forklift off the mezzanine floor. When I asked if he was alright I was told he was fine as the fall was cushioned by the bosses beemer which the forklift landed on.
we kept the client....

I was once running a project which involved moving a server from one room to another so an area of wall in a listed building could be replaced over the WE.
Some dumb fluffybunny forgot to physically move the server and cabling on the Friday evening and said server became walled up behind 4 inches of brick..
Happy memories.

@Bones “The Government had set aside $30m to replace Te Whare Ahuru with a modern facility of the same size, but Dunajtschik’s contribution meant that sum could be redistributed to
other mental health projectsimpoverished consultants around the country, said Health Minister Andrew Little.”There, I’ve fixed it.

“LARRY claimed that while at the river, he discovered JIMMY intended to feed him to sasquatch/bigfoot,” the affidavit said. “LARRY indicated JIMMY attempted to get away from him so that the sasquatch could eat LARRY. LARRY would not let JIMMY get away. LARRY punched JIMMY and struck JIMMY with a stick. LARRY and JIMMY fought for an extended amount of time on the ground. LARRY confirmed he killed JIMMY by choking him to death near the river.”

@Tim Def done the mach loop!
What's the big annual exercise in the US (Nevada?) called?
Once saw a video of a Buccaneer flying so low it's wingtips were kicking up dust

@taniwharugby Cimate change must have seriously slowed the speed of light if it has taken this long to travel such a short distance, unless it is on some sort of elliptical course to some far distant galaxy and return.

@Higgins sorry, should have added (knowing no one would read it)
“Stratospheric aerosols can circulate the globe for months after a volcanic eruption, scattering and bending light as the sun dips or rises below the horizon, creating a glow in the sky with hues of pink, blue, purple, and violet,” Fedaeff said.
