Will he accept the call though? Might recognise a sinking ship…

You know what's irked me, seeing true blue kiwis absolutely dining out on beating their own country. I can't even greatly enjoy a win over an old club, I'll be fucked if I'm all glee and rainbows at beating the ABs.

I suppose they were “rejected” by NZ and been a raging success in Ireland. How Francis saili got selected ahead of Aki, I’ll never know. A black mark for Hansen there.

Aki never gave it a chance. Had a good season then buggered off.

Edit: to me he's the equivalent of TUJ, but he was nowhere near as good as those ahead of him.

Drastic action needed now , like has been said you will and can be beaten , but it’s the direction less nature of our performances that is most alarming, we look like we don’t have a clue how to play this well drilled Ireland team .

And this has been going on for a few years now , and the negative results are starting to weigh us down I believe, it’s gone too far to be turned around now. I honestly believe that, I think foster has taken this side too far into a deep black hole.

I believe the time is right for a change, and I don’t believe it’s too late in regards to the next wc, look at South Africa at the last , the timing would be similar. And I still believe we have the talent in the country to be one of the top contenders. A drastic refresh needed for that to happen though .

Although the coaches should have stressed the never won in Nz before before the first test

                Seriously?

If the coaches have to tell a bloke who's captained the All Blacks that their opponents have never won in NZ, then we are truly fucked

Never won a TEST in NZ.

Ireland are a progressive modern rugby side. NZ are not.

That’s why we didn’t have an answer in the last 2 tests!
Makes you wonder how we won the first - oh that’s right Fozzie had to self isolate from the ABs!!

People saying it is too late to change before the RWC.

Do nothing and we may not get out of the pool. Under present mgmt the World Cup is a write off so may as well let someone have a crack with low expectations - I favour Schmidt and Robertson- Schmidt can bring international and RWC experience and taking a bit of pressure off Robertson

@DaGrubster I don’t believe it is too late, I mean longer would be better yes , but how many times do teams change coaches when things aren’t working and the improvement is instant ?

It’s not like at club level sometimes where a team might not have the players , do we honest honestly think man for man Ireland are clearly more talented than what we have in nz ?

Its never to late for a new gameplan, one to unlock defenses without aimless kicking.

AB's had some great goal line defence in test 1 - especially RI. In saying that Ireland let a lot of half chances go. May have been a series clean sweep if they'd managed to finish a couple of those chances.

                            @kiwiinmelb

                            Agreed.

At this stage it is basically a free hit if someone came in now.

One thing I would love to see is an AB team playing greater than the sum of its parts. We have not seen that at a World Cup outside of ‘87. It’s normally the other way round.

The boks have treated RWC’s as short term projects before. Most recent with Erasmus and going further back in 95 which Francois Pinear has talked about.

(The boks are well suited to RWC rugby with how they play and their strengths but I digress…in the fine tradition of Lee Grant)

                            Couple of questions:

At what point do NZR act before the damage to the All Black brand starts to impacts commercially.

Does Silverlake protect its investment by putting pressure on the NZR board to be ruthless enough to act and also to become a high performance organisation again?

Yup they did, I mentioned this before. We put ourselves in the wrong part of the field and we have to perform defensive heroics to stay in the game. Which may be leaving us too drained to then impose ourselves offensively

I have seen a few comments on social media about how the ABs didn't stay out and mingle and do autographs after the game...assuming it is true, i understand the boys will be gutted (you'd hope) but they still need to be doing that stuff, or did the booing hurt thier feelings?

Then I see ones about James Lowe out for ages after signing autographs and gave away his boots.

Optics matter, especially for a team that is in a bit of damage mitigation.

@taniwharugby There were several ABs staying out for photos and autographs. From what I've seen on social media, at least, Ardie Savea, David Havili and Will Jordan did.

@taniwharugby There were several ABs staying out for photos and autographs. From what I've seen on social media, at least, Ardie Savea, David Havili and Will Jordan did.

Yeah, there's a bit of revisionism around Aki ever since he started playing for Ireland. He left NZ after 2 seasons of Super rugby and had signed overseas well before the end of his second season.

Plus, if there's photos of them smiling with fans some whiners will complain they're not taking the loss seriously enough.
