I only caught the last minute, but this England team of no names look dreadful. About half a dozen opportunities blown in 60 seconds. All they needed to do at the ruck steal was one pass and fall over the line and couldn't even do that!

That’s the good thing about sevens. Odds of hanging on to the ball for 20+ seconds about the same as losing a lineout. Much easier to be deemed isolated, more contest for the ball, mistakes heavily punished...
How many times have we seen that scenario of trying to hold the ball end up n a penalty, a march down the field and a loss. At least the line out chewed up most of the clock so it was just win possession and boot it out. -

That Samoa result sounded pretty tight. I hope it's because they are good, not because we aren't so great

That Samoa result sounded pretty tight. I hope it's because they are good, not because we aren't so great
Samoa came out full guns, smashing everything that moved hard but also being accurate with ball in hand. Looked awesome. Couldn’t sustain that full on level for the whole game though and had banked on creating a lead then hanging on. Our guys worked their way back into the game and used Tangitau’s youthful energy to crack them.
Turning point was probably the grubber through to score just before half time. Had Samoa second guessing their all out defensive press with no sweeper.
