@canefan cheers mate, ended up just going with the SJ after all that - found a good deal and figured it was a safe bet.

Can't go wrong with Weber mate. Built solid

@nzzp Again with the Peaches? You really should be on some sort of a retainer.

I've been trying to get there ever since you first mentioned it, but Panmure is a bit of a trek. Whenever I have been anywhere in the area (like e.g. Highbrook) I have made a visit but they've always been either closed or packed to the rafters.

Really DO need to get there.

Yeah ... my wife sent me that one. But we're fans, and for good reason.

Their chicken is an experience. Seriously. It's packed for a reason.

Plus, Panmure FFS. It's become a real ethnic food destination

@nzzp Yeah The Chasing A Plate series on Panmure on You Tube had me salivating but East Auckland is the least visited part of the city for me and to get there from my home I have to drive past literally hundreds of other places that I want to eat.

there are more than 20 places I want to try that are within walking distance of my home so Panmure might as well be in the Congo.

@Victor-Meldrew You lost me on the Mayo. I could not figure out why I had lost my interest in burgers until I went to a joint in the eastern sierras. The waitress asked me if I wanted mayo. The penny dropped.

I did it for you. Pretty tasty, waffles had herb butter on them, got the medium spicy which was great. Chilli maple syrup was weird but seemed to work. You're welcome 😊

How hot? I use Carolina Reapers for comparison.

I might have to try it once.

I'm a white guy. It makes me cough and occasionally shake.

Haven't eaten a Carolina Reaper, but my digestive tract is on fire for a couple of days later, so I don't get Holy Cluck often. Go do it - get a plate of chicken 🙂

I had the spicy dumplings from Eden Noodles Cafe before the Eden Park test and they had some kick.

    @nzzp @Bovidae

My reaction to capsaicin is the hiccups. I have Carolina Reapers growing at home. I wouldn't expect Holy Cluck to be anywhere near that scale but I will probably start with Hot.

@canefan your efforts are gratefully acknowledged 😉 I doubt I'd go the waffle route. In fact none of the classics appeal I'd goa Lil Dark I reckon.

What time did you get there and how long was the wait?

I prefer boneless chicken so that would limit my choice on the menu.

the big white and lil white are breast meat with a wing attached.

Otherwise, any of the burgers or biscuits or waffles have boneless thighs. Do it @Bovidae

@nzzp Can it be a burger if it's made with a brioche bun? Or is it a modern affectation?

Be careful I've been outed as a food snob already today 😉

haha, absolutely. A bun is a bun is a bun.

Burgers with Fried Chicken should concern you more... that's non-traditional

Went medium. Was nice and spicy without being uncomfortable. Belly still feels warm

Went at 12pm. Got a table for 1 straight away. It got pretty busy pretty soon after that. I got the waffle because it is one of their classics. Was pretty good, I'd recommend giving it a lash
