@Nepia yeah I started Alex Rider and it seemed good but they moved it to the IMDb platform over here which means ads, so gave up.

Hmmm, maybe I'll add it to my Amazon watchlist then, but, I'm I've still got a list of over 10 returning shows I'm making my way through (currently on Ozark).

but was not nearly as good as one.

Oh I agree it wasn't as good as one, but better than the kicking it's getting in the thread I think.

I've seen that Alex Rider series when scrolling through Amazon but have never thought it looks interesting enough to add it to my scroll list.

On the subject of Amazon their new update to a Netflix style interface might look better but it's laggy as fudge to use and gets stuck way too often. It's almost rivalling Binge for shittiest streaming app.

i did kind of like the "statesman" stuff...it was the bringing colin firth back even though he was shot in the face when that was such a epic moment in the first film...and destroying everything...we never got to see a whole Kingsman operation actually working

    Finished The Old Man

    Top show.

Great acting, sure as is the way in this genre, some of the shit is OTT, but hey, we dont live in that spook world, so who knows how super human they are πŸ™‚

    ##spoiler
I had picked early on that Emily / Angela would be Hamzads daughter, didnt pick that Angela was Chases daughter until it was obvious.
Some nice tie ins though, brothers, dad etc.
The fact The Old Man wasnt Dan Chase, haha!
With those other fellas that had Emily in the van, got taken out by a lone woman? Pretty well organised operation to have half a dozen shooters, knowing they would fail to then get that woman in the right spot to take out 2 highly trained operatives - that said, refer above haha
    ##endspoiler

It was great. The premise was utterly unoriginal and there may have been a shed-load of cliched plot-twists but the writing and acting was superb. I actually thought the flashback scenes were key to the show as you had to put some effort into understanding the timelines and characters and that seemed to draw me in more.

    Sandman anyone?

watched the first episode last night, different...will keep watching

Just finished episode 6 last night and wow, what a brilliant series (so far). Keep watching as it does get better and better.

One of the best comic book adaptations I can think of, which is amazing given how complex and dark the original comic book is.

    Finished Bosch.

Reckon the final season moved along pretty rapidly as I have found previous years, while great writing, could drag in places.

Overall, pretty good series, and I guess the finale was fitting given, well Bosch!

Anyone seen the spinoff, think @Bovidae mentioned you were going to watch?

I didn't read the original comics so this is interesting. I did enjoy the series, but I felt they could have taken some of the scenes further, eg could have been more graphic or adult in places?, but without seeing the comics I don't know how that would fit. To me, it just felt they were targeting the masses rather then making it more twisted which I assumed in my own head where some of this would/could go.

Bosch Legacy: Is a continuation of the story where if leaves off, but then follows Maddie more. If you liked the original you will like this as it is all the same characters. I quite enjoyed it, waiting for the next season after the "cliff hanger ending" lol

The Bear: FX remembered how confused everyone was by the title Terriers so have decided to repeat that by naming a show about a restaurant The Bear. Despite the title (much like Terriers) the show is really good.

Short 8 episode S1, most eps half an hour so an easy watch, but the finale is longer.

Yeah it's great, also similar to Better Call Saul, the "old" characters make an occasional reappearance which is cool.

It is very interesting that is for sure, if you just go for the ride. I thought the death episode was very interesting and well done. Only bugbear so far is the Ravens voice just seems off to me, almost comic like.

@MiketheSnow are you taking about the talentless flog known as Fred Durst from Limp Biskit?

I slightly recall some issues with Woodstock '99 but nothing about how bad it was. To me it went to two things:

    1. Generational differences.
    2. Greed of the promoters.

I still recommend watching it, Especially after the rampant failure here that was Splendour in the Grass.

IT's a really interesting documentary I thought. Shows exactly how you shouldn't plan a music festival.

I quite liked a lot of Nu Metal music at the time. And it's exactly what the docs is all about, it's ability to amp you up. It's just such a shame that it looks ike most of my fellow fans are literally the worst people in America. Loudmouth young male dickheads who think they are above the law.

Some of the stuff that went down is crazy though. Those promoters / producers are very lucky not be in jail for complete negligence.

She Hulk - looked like it could b really bad. Had a look only because of Tatiana.

Was way better than expected. Some OTT She Hulk vs Hulk fights but some good comedy too.

Yeah a strange mix. Those embarrassing Nu Metal bands…..plus Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson and the insanely hot Jewel.

Hot D, a teaser more than an episode. If you can get past the smash the patriarchy & black Valyrians it is a decent start. Although I had to laugh at the director's "50% of mediaeval women died in chidlbirth' stat, the juxtaposition of the tourney and the Queen's labour was interesting. Because childbirth is the real battle.

Anyway disengaing any thought's in that manner, looking forward to more dragons and sword fights, TV that I would've given anything as a kid to see.

I have been finishing off watching the last episodes of Ozark this week.

    ##spoiler
This is a show I have talked up, but I was disappointed with the final episode. It seems to be very polarising too, you either liked it or hated it.

The car crash was a big tease, other than proving it seems that the Byrdes can't die. In the end they will do anything to stay together and survive, which I guess was the point. I really wanted Wendy to die a horrible death. πŸ™‚
    ##endspoiler

    I just finished it tonight.

    ##spoiler
I was gutted Wendy didn't die a horrible death too.

Pretty annoyed they killed off Ruth but the foreshadowing early in the episode was obvious as fuck.

The final scene of black and the gunshots was actually a pretty decent way to end, aside from the rest of the episode. Not as bad as the finale of The Man in the High Castle though.

At any rate it was a very good series.

Agree all of that. Overall I liked it, though ever since one of youse pointed put that there isn't a single likeable character in the entire show, it's been a little harder to enjoy.

and the look on the guys face when he accepting Dream wasn't coming and then when he heard the pub was being closed and the thought that "dream" wouldn't know where to find him next time, really good
