We won't lose another test this year.

Oz in Oz, Eng in Eng (last test) will be the tricky ones. I don't see us beating England as we are playing ATM

You’re forgetting Scotland are due too. This is their year.

Actually given how the All Blacks have played this year they could ALL be tricky. Not sure where your confidence is coming from.

Nowhere it was in response to the 'we will win all the rest'. I'm thinking we won't, min 2 more losses

Ok. I did the safe fern thing and went on the offence to a slight that probably wasn’t there. As you were.

Argentina could be a pretty stern test from what I've seen of them. Hoping we see continued improvement - don't think any of us could survive another Ground Hog Day of one good Test followed by two poor ones.

Me neither, but this is Foster Master of inconsistancy we are talking about. A couple of good games against Arg, then relaxed in Oz, boom - loss. We may even see the Blacklash in Eden Park

so what happens if we lose the Bledisloe and then a couple on the EOYT? The time to move was straight after the Irish series, but didnt, now, they need to give him what he needs.

Still unsure how Teflon McLeod has stayed through all this, more so while other coaches under Fozzie were dragged through this too, McLeod was barely mentioned.

              NZR really seem clueless.

The decision is fair enough at this point. Razor might not want to be parachuted in on short notice and frankly he deserves his proper coronation. They can’t keep having reviews. They’ve got one if not the best forwards coaches. Players love Fozzy. Yup.

Now for the love of god, please extend Razor’s deal til 2050. Can’t have him coaching England.

Ok you are all probably right I am just still upset our worst coach in recent memory gets the best coaches to help him fall over the line.

                  Unfortunately.

There's plenty of coaching nous in the mix now between Ryan, Feek, Cron, Strawbridge and now Schmidt..

Fozzie will be the media fluffer and the boys' shoulder to cry on while the assistants create the master plans.

So basically team manager like I suggested before. The coach one tries to keep away from actual coaching.

Forgot about this. Lochore was a great coach. He never really got the credit he deserved for the first RWC win. It sort-of went to Hart and Wylie. At least until neither won when it mattered most

A quick summary in case you needed it... :

                      • Foster should never have been appointed in the first place

                      • We need to sack Foster and appoint Robertson now

                      • Robertson wouldn't want to take over after Foster

                      • Foster will never sack his assistants as they are "family"

                      • Foster has hung his assistants out to dry by getting rid of them

                      • Foster is fat

                      • The players say they support Foster but they are just saying that coz (insert preferred reason here)

                      • It's going to take some time to turn around Foster's mess and it's silly to say new coach will achieve instant results

                      • Jason Ryan has achieved miracles in two weeks

                      • Robertson wouldn't want to take over after Foster anyway and Robertson's too good a coach to want to work with Foster as an Assistant

                      • NZR have completely lost the plot and Foster should never have been appointed in the first place

This is such a weird situation. I get the decision and I assume that Razor (or anyone) would be reluctant to take on the job. But fark. Who is actually in charge now? I'd like to think this will work, but damn it will require Foster to swallow some massive shitburgers (as opposed to cheeseburgers).

Could the NZR at least improve their coach selection process? More transparency for example. They could even ask ex-coaches for suggestions (not just Hansen and Henry).

this is the issue - fozzie seems immensely popular with the players and it's a big part of why he got picked and why he's still around.
They need to scrap that thinking and take a ruthless results focused approach.
I'm hoping all that result did was allow fozzie back into the country without a lynch mob being there waiting for him at the airport.

I would hope that NZ rugby public in general are intelligent enough to not even thinking words like lynch mob mate. All due respect to you and all, this is exactly the kind of thing that happened when Hart came home after WC exit to death threats etc written all over his luggage.
Not sure why anyone get's so upset. Dave Rennie is starting to cop shit in Aus as his results make Fosters look gold, but once again, the players etc seem to be in his corner.

There is some pretty shit stuff appearing about Bok coach too, Eddie Jones in England , it would seem we got some pretty shit coaches around world.

The Boer coach only won 60 something percent against tier 1 nations too, and some of his selections, and non answering of reasons as to why the selections, have been nuts.

So we're not in a happy place, but neither are a lot of our contemporaries.

The deed is done, so no point in debating further. But NZRU should make it clear to Foster this is a make work, and there WILL be a new coach after RWC. The ideal outcome would be to cajole him to announcing he intends to stand down at that point, so Rennie/Joseph/Razor can plan accordingly.

so what happens if we lose the Bledisloe and then a couple on the EOYT? The time to move was straight after the Irish series, but didnt, now, they need to give him what he needs.

Still unsure how Teflon McLeod has stayed through all this, more so while other coaches under Fozzie were dragged through this too, McLeod was barely mentioned.

                                  NZR really seem clueless.

                                  Then we're SCREWED!

We could well be if the RC & EOYT don't go well.

My guess (and it's only a guess), is that Schmidt has the confidence of NZR and he has confidence in Foster. If things regress or don't improve I wouldn't be surprised to see Foster step down of his own accord. His coaching skills may not have impressed me much to date, but the way he handles himself under pressure has, and I think he's the sort of bloke who'd want to do the best thing for his team

It was that & Julian Savea's tweet on the abuse which set me off yesterday. Why was it left to ex-players & Oz ex-coaches to call it out?

Indeed. I particularly took on board MW comments about the impact of weeks on end in Covid bubble last year. Nonetheless, the losses will have impacted the AB’s confidence.

Then we got the TMO from hell in Ireland2.

By Ireland3 the players were playing with an anxiety hand brake. Evident in Boks1.

The pile on only made that worse.

Once we scored, the monkey was off the shoulder and normal service was resumed. Well, almost.

IMO now is the time to jump on board and just ask for more of the same.

Absolute fucking disaster. Razor will be the next England coach and the ABs will have let a once in a generation coaching talent slip thorough their hands for a "yes" man who refused any opportunity to rock the boat. Shambles!
